Fennec Shand is a feared assassin who worked for all the major crime syndicates during the Empire and New Republic eras. Needing funds to repair his ship, Din Djarin, or "Mando" as he's often referred to, agrees to track down and turn in Fennec on Tattooine with the help of novice bounty hunter Toro Calican. After a long day of hunting for her, a fight ensues and she's captured by the two. Privately, Fennec tries to convince Toro to join her and turn in Mando after his betrayal of the Bounty Hunter Guild on Nevarro. But realizing that Fennec would have betrayed him he shoots her, leaving her for dead and faces off Mando himself, only for him to killed. Fennec, is however saved by a mysterious black figure, who later turned out to be Boba Fett.
Some time later on Tython, Boba confronts Mando to retrieve his old armor, accompanied by Fennec, who reveals that Boba saved her life on Tatooine and owed him a life debt. A battle ensues between the three of them, before Moff Gideon and his Dark Troopers arrive to ambush them capture Grogu, who had just finished using the Force to make contact with a Jedi who can train him. Returning his old now-cleaned up Mandalorian armor to Boba, he and Fennec agree to form an alliance with Mando and rescue Grogu. With the help of fellow Mandalorians Bo-Katan Kryze and Koska Reeves and now-appointed Marshal of the New Republic Cara Dune, they managed to infiltrate Moff Gideon's Light Cruiser to rescue Grogu from his clutches. However, they are all bombarded with a platoon of Dark Troopers who prove too powerful for even highly trained warriors and bounty hunters. Just when it seems like they are about to lose, Luke Skywalker enters the cruiser and swiftly destroys all the Dark Troopers. Luke, being the one contacted by Grogu on Tython, has come to take him and train him to become a Jedi. Fennec witnesses Mando and Grogu bidding their farewells.
At an unknown point in time later, Fennec and Boba storm Jabba the Hutt's former palace, now being run by Bib Fortuna, and slaughter everyone in the throne room and even free one of the slaves. Boba finishes it off by killing Bib himself and takes his place on the throne with Fennec by his side.
- In The Mandalorian and Star Wars: The Bad Batch, Fennec is played by Ming-Na Wen, who also voiced the title character in the Disney animated film Mulan, and Agent Melinda May in the TV series Marvel's Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D..
