In the TV show, the dragon form of the Overlord was referred to as his true form, while the minifigure form is the form he took after having his true form destroyed by Lloyd, and becoming the Golden Master. However, in the set both forms of Overlord are used, despite the fact that the two forms never appeared as separate entities in the show. This is a reversal of the case of 71713 Empire Dragon, in which the set depicted Unagami as a separate being from the dragon, whereas in the series he transformed into the dragon. 71754 Water Dragon would follow the pattern of featuring both a minifigure character and their dragon form.
