42083 Bugatti Chiron is a TECHNIC set that was released in 2018.
Description[]
The set features a W16 engine that is driven by both axles. It also uses an 8-speed gearbox system with reverse, speeds are changed via paddleshift on the inside of the set. The set features new rims and brake disc pieces, and also features fully independent suspension, along with four suspension springs per axle, rather than the typical two per axle like in other TECHNIC sets. The set also features a key which goes into the rear left fender, this key's purpose is to actuate the rear wing, which, on the real Bugatti, this key is used to allow the vehicle to accelerate to its fastest speed.
The set also contains a unique code, which once registered on LEGO.com, it gives the user access to unique gifts and such.
Background[]
It is based off of the Bugatti Chiron, which is currently the fastest car in the world, the engine in the real Bugatti has 1500 horsepower, producing a top speed of 249 miles per hour, and goes 0–60 miles in only 2.5 seconds. Placing the rear chasis part of the set in the building process is meant to simulate the marriage process on the real Chiron.
