Plot[]
Unable to get the Hydro Bounty moving again due to its drained battery, Nya becomes frustrated with Maya's attempts to help. Jay offers to recharge the battery with his lightning powers, but P.I.X.A.L. and Zane warn him against attempting it, noting that it would be similar to Zane's recentordeal of opening a portal to Prime Empire. Maya suggests that perhaps the power source they've been tracking might be of use instead. Faced with the problem of reaching it, P.I.X.A.L. unveils another of her aquatic creations: two APS suits, untested prototypes she had intended to manufacture for the entire team.
Despite her malfunctioning powers, Nya insists on taking one of the suits, and Maya insists on accompanying her in the other. Mother and daughter proceed through the hazards of the Tartarus Trench, and have a heart-to-heart about Maya's long absence from Nya's life and the difficult choice that led to it. The pair then arrive at a temple, with an inscription that Zane is unable to fully translate. Though the door bears a warning, Maya and Nya are forced to enter it in order to reach the power source they are searching for. Entering the temple, the pair find several strange beings laboring over a large, unconscious serpent.
A strange octopus-like being enters and accosts Glutinous, who is supervising the group attempting to awaken the beast. Impatient with Glutinous' multiple failed attempts to do so, and his efforts to explain the difficulty, his superior orders him to proceed with another. Zane's translation program finally identifies the full inscription, revealing that the beast the undersea dwellers seek to awaken is none other than Wojira. The attempt to awaken the beast releases a pulse that affects Nya, exposing her and Maya's presence and forcing them to attempt to flee. However, the pair are knocked unconscious, and the stranger recognizes Nya as the Elemental Master of Water, much to his delight...
Trivia[]
Maya's line of "Off we go" parodies the opening line of the United States Air Force anthem.
