Flex Combo[1] (alternatively Felix Combo),[2] also known as Bill Wire,[3] is a Space Port minifigure introduced in 1999.
Description[]
Flex Combo wears a white labcoat and black pants. His coat is printed with the Space Port logo, and is worn over a blue shirt and black tie. He also wears a white Mini Contractors Helmet. His face is printed with glasses and a grey beard. In 3067, he wears white pants instead of black. In DK Readers: LEGO Rocket Rescue, he does not wear any helmet, exposing his bald head.
When portrayed as a human in the Time Cruisers comics, Felix Combo has a black beard instead of grey. Much like in Rocket Rescue, he has a bald head and does not wear a helmet.
Background[]
Flex Combo is the lead scientist who helps organize the mission, build the shuttle, and analyze the findings at the spaceport.
In Mayday! Fire at the Spaceport!!, Combo gives final instructions to Captain Jerry Walker and Navigator Eena Orbit before takeoff, but he does not start the countdown to the shuttle launch because the computer system has gone haywire. It explodes, prompting him to call for help.[4] After the crisis, he is relieved that it took place before take-off so that the astronauts would not be stranded in space.[5]
In the Time Cruisers comics, Felix Combo is testing the Mini Rocket Launcher when Tim Timebuster and Ingo arrive. Combo is saddened to inform them that the rocket launch will have to be canceled since their astronaut is ill, prompting Tim to volunteer. When Batterby Schure arrives to apprehend Tim as an intruding bounder, Combo orders Schure to let Tim go. He trains Tim at the Space Simulation Station before sending him into space to launch a satellite. In the midst of their celebration, Combo notices that Misson Control's instruments indicate that Ingo has pressed the shuttle's self-destruct button.
In Soccer Mania, Bill Wire is the goalie of the Space Technicians team. Like other goalies, his best stats are speed and goalkeeping (192/272), while his shooting, passing, and tackling are considerably weaker than his teammates (128/272).[6] In story mode, the player's team meets the Space Technicians at the LEGO Launch Pad and plays against them on the Launch Control field in order to follow the Brickster into space. After beating them, Bill Wire is unlocked and can be added to the player's custom team.

- Although Felix Combo is named by the German World Club Magazine Time Cruisers comics,[2] he is left unnamed in the official English translation.[7] However, he is still addressed by his surname Combo in Mayday! Fire at the Spaceport!! in the previous issue.[4]
- Another member of the Space Technicians is named Bob Wire. It is unknown if Bill and Bob Wire have any relation.
