The Forbidden Skeleton[1] is a skeleton minifigure introduced in 2020. It is officially part of the 18+ Creator theme, although its lore is based upon Adventurers.
Description[]
The Forbidden Skeleton is largely the standard skeleton minifigure, reflecting its modern design in 2020 with sturdier arms and a slightly different skull print. As such, it is nearly entirely white, except for the black top hat it wears atop its head. The Forbidden Skeleton has dark stone grey chains attached to its feet, and carries a dark stone grey sextant in one hand as a reference to the item's use in the Adventurers theme.

The Forbidden Skeleton is located in the attic of Manor von Barron, hanging from chains above the mysterious Altar of Alhazred.
The Forbidden Skeleton's identity remains a mystery, with various in-universe rumors speculating about who it was in life. It is rumored that the Forbidden Skeleton is the remains of Sam Sinister, who supposedly died in a car explosion while he was running from the law.[1] The name "Sam Sinister" has been previously used by Slyboots as well as the manor's former owner Samuel von Barron, both of whom have worn black top hats; it should be noted that the designer video refers to Slyboots as "Sam Sinister" while the name is never explicitly used in reference to Samuel von Barron,[2] making Slyboots the more likely suspect of the two characters. However, this might all be a red herring, since it is also rumored that the top hat-wearing Twin Butlers were originally triplets, implying that the third butler is the true identity of the Forbidden Skeleton.[1]

- The Forbidden Skeleton was added to 10273 Haunted House by Oliver Merriam, son of senior LEGO designer Carl Merriam.[2]
- The Forbidden Skeleton is essentially a modern version of the Bone Daddy skeleton minifigure. Notably, an inspiration model on the back of 5938 Oasis Ambush's box depicts a skeleton wearing Slyboots' top hat in a manner identical to Bone Daddy's minifigure; this could be the direct inspiration for the Forbidden Skeleton.
- In LEGO Legacy: Heroes Unboxed, Skeleton Yorick's victory animation shows him holding a black top hat while dancing, evoking the appearance of the Forbidden Skeleton.
