Fully protected pages

Well, I was trolling around the wiki and noticed a few fully protected userpages, amongst other things. I think that it would be a good idea to not have fully protected userpages.

  • Sometimes, template change (etc), and links need to be fixed. It is nice if all users can do this, rather than just admins.
  • If a user is going around vandalizing userpages they will be blocked anyways, and we already have a common sense policy of not editing each-others' userpages, which we could set in stone.

Anyways, please discuss. ajr 22:19, April 26, 2011 (UTC)

  • Yeah, sorry about that.:P I was testing a few things; I meant to change the level of protection down once the tests were over. Sorry again.Skdhjf(Talk!) 22:30, April 26, 2011 (UTC)
Psh, don't be sorry. You're the newbie after all :P ajr 22:37, April 26, 2011 (UTC)
    :D lol. Skdhjf(Talk!) 22:39, April 26, 2011 (UTC)
  • Agree to remove the protection from fully protected userpages, but protecting them autoconfirmed should still be used to prevent attacks from IPs.  Samdo994 talk contribs  10:46, April 28, 2011 (UTC)
Yea, autoconfirm isn't a problem. That still allows users to perform any maintenance tasks that need doing. ajr 03:03, April 30, 2011 (UTC)
  • Semi-protect at most seems good to me (unless a temporary full-protection due to excessive vandalism comes up) NightblazeSaber 10:40, May 2, 2011 (UTC)
