→ Linking to the part articles |
Everybody should have noticed this by now, on all minifigure articles there is an accessory section. This should be fine, but shouldn't we actually try giving links to those pieces that the minifigure uses? I'm only saying this to let unregistered searchers navigate this wiki smoothly. There is easy ways to find those part articles quickly and make them link, just go on Peeron.com or use LEGO Digital Designer. And if those part articles aren't created, it would be an easy way for users to create new part articles. So should we try linking to the part articles in the accessory section of the minifigure templates? I think we should do it together, for if only one person tries doing so, it takes too long. - Yes, all accessories should be linked, and there are a fair few which are, see Boba Fett, Clone Trooper, etc. Many aren't, but they should all be linked, well at the very least, all of one-piece accessories anyway. NightblazeSaber 00:19, January 13, 2011 (UTC)
I've got another problem. Bricklink part numbers are different from peeron ones. Bricklink is definitely a better source for parts-it is FAR more complete in that manner than peeron, which is still missing some 2009 part counts. Should we redirect from bricklink's number to peeron's? Can we link to the bricklink catalog for that part? BobaFett

- The only part numbers we should be using are the LEGO Design ID's, not some other fansites systems. I know Peeron use the Design IDs, except for when they sometimes add additional things on the end, like "px1" or whatever- in this case, the "px1" should be removed, as it just identifies a piece with specific printing. - Wait, Brickset? If you mean Bricklink, sorry, you'll have to link me to an example, I don't really know my way around Bricklink. As for the "px" things, you agree the Design ID pertains to the mould of the piece right? Well, 2431px7 on Peeron is called Tile 1 x 4 with Black Wrench Pattern, whereas 2431 is just "Tile 1 x 4". So the "px" would be exactly the same mould, but just with printing on it. But, I'm not 100% certain on this, but I think this is right. I've never been able to find these Design ID's which are allegedly on all parts, so I can't prove it or anything, if you or someone who knows about parts can confirm or deny this, please do.
