Locking Blogs

I've see a lot of old blogs commented upon by users just to get points but most of these blogs are now irrelevant. Could we lock blogs to prevent editing after X time? BobaFett

If you wanted to do it automatically, you'd need a sysop bot (I think) - nxt 15:42, July 27, 2011 (UTC)
I think this should be up to the author of the blog. Some blogs are designed to be active for a long time. FB100Ztalkcontribs 17:25, July 27, 2011 (UTC)
How a bot that creates a list of blogs that haven't been used for, say six months, and then post the list monthly to an admin who asks the author if the blog can be closed?  Samdo994 talk contribs  17:32, July 27, 2011 (UTC)
Sounds like a good idea, albeit a bit complicated. FB100Ztalkcontribs 17:37, July 27, 2011 (UTC)

  • I like the idea. Sometimes user are commenting on these to earn badges, but some users may be commenting for good reasons. For blogs that do not really have a purpose and have been up for 6 months, I say we lock them. For blogs that do have a point to them, we should ask the owners first if we may lock it. •myk 00:41, August 8, 2011 (UTC)
