Don't ask about the title; I never think clearly when I'm sick :P

Brickipedia has a serious gap in policy coverage. We have to cite sources, but there's no citation policy. We nominate pages for deletion, yet we have no notability policy. Our blocking policy is never used. BP:MOS doesn't elaborate enough on the subjects it covers (I like the Wikipedia MOS format.). 3RR is non-existent. BP:NOT is incomplete, and I was slammed for trying to expand it (partial reverts, anyone?) We're also missing POINT, OR, and some kind of BLP. We have a censorship policy, but it's never been written down.

In short: our policies are a complete mess. I've casually moaned about this to myself, and occasionally to people on chat who I think might be interested, but I'm finally bringing this up as an issue that really needs to be addressed.

Okay, </rant>. How are we going to approach this issue? FB100Ztalkcontribs 03:18, October 3, 2011 (UTC)

  • I have been on a small project of my own to make policies more user friendly. (Then Brickipedia:Consensus was re-wrtitten, and even I didn't understand the new version. =D (You know what I mean, FB!)) Oh, and can't we incorporate some of the linked policies into other ones? After all, we are not WIKIPEDIA!!! - nxt 16:27, October 3, 2011 (UTC)
Why not worry about getting content down first before trying to be different from the wikis we seem to hate so much? FB100Ztalkcontribs 17:03, October 3, 2011 (UTC)
You do know I put that in just to annoy you right? - nxt

  • 1. Brickipedia:Sourcing. Yes, it isn't great. This is because a lot of the information comes from people's first-hand experiences with the sets/minifigures- how do you source that? It's been a question going around for years. 2. Blocking policy has never been passed, it was "under debate". As it says, see the talk page, the latest posts are all against the policy from passing. 3. You're definitely right about the watermarked stuff (I'm guessing that's what you mean about the censorship)- we added the deletion dropdown stuff and the warning template, can't find a policy page though :S As for the rest, per the last sentence of NXT's comment. And that "expanding" could easily be interpreted as "single-handedly dictating new policy without any community discussion or consensus" NightblazeSaber 10:39, October 4, 2011 (UTC)
