I wonder if it is really okay to use the term "The LEGO Wiki". I know that there enough other wikis that use similar terms ("The Star Wars Wiki", "The Harry Potter Wiki" etc.) Maybe they got something like a special permission? Or can you just call your website whatever you like? Also, in the same way as they use these official-sounding names, they also use the official logos (e.g. Wookieepedia and Harry Potter both use the Star Wars logo and the Harry Potter logo respectively). But the guidelines on LEGO.com actually do not allow the use of the LEGO logo on unofficial websites. So what's going on here? Do they all have a special permission? Are we the only ones that may have bad luck with LEGO's guidelines? Or can we do as we please (just like apparently everyone else pleases)? --LegOtaku (talk • contr) 20:05, December 28, 2009 (UTC)
Come on guys, you must have an opinion on this. --LegOtaku (talk • contr) 11:18, January 4, 2010 (UTC)
Sorry, I somehow missed this forum. I don't believe that Wookieepedia or the HP wiki asked for any special permission- I think it's ok to call wikis whatever you want to, but I'm not really sure on this. About the LEGO logo, I'm not sure about it not being allowed- LEGO on Wikipedia has it, and if you click the image, the logo's actually been tagged to be in the public domain. However, it's also been tagged with a trademark template, so I don't know (my copyright/legal knowledge is fairly limited, I'm just here for the LEGO :D). Sorry I'm not really of much help on this one :S NightblazeSaber 23:25, January 4, 2010 (UTC)
Sorry. I have no idea. I really don't know a lot about too much (Note to self, change that). Hehe, me to Nighthawk. :)
I'm not all that great with copyrights, but with what I know, if you don't have permission to use their logo, it is illegal. With Wikia's liscenses, though, it could change that, but I'm not sure. That's all I know. Hope it helps! Construction Worker Do you need help? 23:38, January 5, 2010 (UTC)
I think LEGO is much bigger than things like Harry Potter, so I would suggest to call it the inofficial LEGO wiki, until we got a special permission or something... Samdo994 talk Contribs [[Special:Editcount/Samdo994|Special:Editcount/Samdo994 edits]] 13:38, February 20, 2010 (UTC)
