Synopsis[]

PLOT:

The episode “foxtrot” starts off with Laval racing through the trees on his Speedor. He's stopped in his tracks though when ShadoWind approaches, silently giving him the chance for a private race by simply pointing left. Pretending to be a bit cautious, Laval starts his engine and excitedly accepts, ShadoWind chasing after him.

A VALUABLE OPPORTUNITY:

Laval stays in front, only for a little while sadly when ShadoWind shows off his skills and quickly gains the upper hand through maximum speed. They reach a road, both the riders getting separated by falling rocks, Laval crashing into them right before he nearly gets caught in it. On the other side, ShadoWind turns to check on the young lion but gets trapped by another pile of rocks.

All of this being a trap, as Cragger appears with a few Crocodiles and Ravens up above, ordering them to fire at the masked rider. Nets and red lasers are shot at ShadoWind, luckily all of them being dodged and creating a big cloud of dust that clears everything from sight, including him, making Cragger pause his troop's fire so he can see if the mission was a success. unlucky for them, it wasn't when ShadoWind showed some more of his skills by racing up the cliff and flying above their heads.

Committed to eliminating the very person that's been up his backside for ages, Cragger follows him and looks to catch him when he lands, but gets caught in the crossfire by an electrical Raven net.

Laval on the lower road, watches his Idol escape his elimination and cheers for a job well done, going to catch up with him back in the trees. While Cragger complains about his being a job not well done, before getting shocked again by the net. His troops get him out of it, Crooler advising him that to destroy them all he needs to “take a deep breath”, blowing in his face the gas of the persuader plant. Cragger then sneezes, pushing him all the way back to karma. He tumbles down the cliff with the net, Crooler letting out an “oh no”.

THE PLEDGE OF THE PACK:

With another plan being a failure, Crooler looks to get herself a new batch that she believes can actually get the job done, the wolf pack. She explains that they have to be a distraction for her by stealing the Chi from the sacred pool, the wolves giving no agreement because of it meaning a broken loyalty between them and Cragger whose title means something special to the wolves.

Woriz explains a story that years ago the pack used to fight amongst themselves on who should be alpha. That was until Cragger and Crooler's father king Crominus showed them the power of Chi, finally setting them free. For gratitude, the alpha back then signed something that forever made the wolves swear loyalty to whom ever was king of the crocodiles, the pledge of the pack. Meaning that for whatever reason, since Cragger is king, they must serve him.

They're offered freedom though when Crooler presents them with a piece of old paper that has unknown writing and a wolf's paw print on it. She makes a deal with them that if they help her, she'll destroy it along with the loyalty they swore ages ago. The pack accepts, showing they're either tired of being servants or they just don't accept Cragger worth their services. But Woriz admits they'll need help with this scheme from “someone who’s really good at causing trouble”.

DIVIDE AND CONQUER:

The next day. A small fox by the name of Furty makes his debut appearance by using his sly talents to sabotage each tribe's speedors without getting noticed. This brings a distrust among those who aren't their own, Bezar interrogating Eris on stealing his Gizmo Gagger, Gorzan yelling at Blavnic for stealing his Groovy Gooper and even Razar who is among the sneakiest thieves of all Chima has himself his thieves code stolen.

One by one, Furry continues to create division among the tribes by whispering through rumors, getting as far as Crawley and Crug to share with Cragger what they were told. Rogon then staring awkwardly at Eris while Lagravis calls for the race to begin.

The golden chi, like always picks an event, it being the ruthless race of ramps, Cragger stating that to win this event you need “wings”, looking straight at Eris who is still getting stared at awkwardly by Rogon.

Confused, Eris asks Laval about her problem, Laval noticing the drawing of her and Rogon inside a heart, suggesting that he may like her. Eris tries her best to laugh at it in disbelief.

Meanwhile, Gorzan overhears Blavnic's plan on sabotaging the track with really sticky honey, so he requests a few banana skins from his companions, this being exactly what Furty said.

A DIRTY RACE:

Before the monthly race begins, everyone seems to be alright unlike Blavnic and Gorzan who snarl right at each other. Once it starts, the race is normal until Gorilla's approach with baskets and tosses a heap of banana skins on the track, eliminating Skinnet, Bezar and almost Razar.

The race continues, this time Razar being eliminated by Rogon when he tries to eliminate Eris. Then as she jumps from a ramp, she notices Furty approach Crooler, Woriz including some of his best men. Woriz compliments the teenage fox on his work, Furty assuring him that there's more to come then what's already been done.

To make a guest appearance on the track, ShadoWind shows, and without any funny business, races through everyone with skill and speed only, Cragger staring at the masked rider with absolute hate.

Most of the remaining riders are eliminated in the next trial of overcoming sticky honey puddles. Eris being lucky she has wings, just like Cragger said as she uses them to get past a loopty loop the Beavers created.

While the race goes on though, Elgor and Crawley accuse each other's tribe of cheating. Grumlo and Balkar being the ones to have that much of a heated argument they start a riot through a fight, Woriz being amazed at the deception Furty has created that even the Lions have to come outside and calm everyone down. Exactly what Crooler anticipated.

Crawley and Crug put a giant rock in the middle of the track, Shadowind coming from the corner, still having dominance above everyone else with Laval following, being able to catch up and once again ride alongside him. Trying to show his idol some skills of his own, Laval speeds up, his commitment on impressing him being so great it keeps his eyes away from the road, putting him in the mud when his speedor trips over the rock Crawley and Crug placed. He questions ShadoWind on why he didn't warn him, the masked rider silently leaving without any word, that being a reminder to the young Lion prince.

THE SCHEME:

The whole area is in chaos, Razar not being able to get through the loopty loop, Skinnet having trouble with the banana peels, Cragger and Bezar still being stuck in the honey with Rogon and Eris being the survivors, it being only for good fun when ShadoWind is declared the winner, again.

The crowd's attention has gotten far off from watching the race though, when tribe faces off against tribe on the outside. ShadoWind ignores the chaos somehow when walking up the steps and gets rewarded the golden Chi by Lagravis who instantly orders every Lion to stop the fighting, with nothing to say the masked rider just watches the riot.

Seeing this as a good time to strike since the Lions are distracted, Crooler and the wolves make their move. Cragger spots her from the battlefield, misunderstanding the wolve's intentions so he goes to check on her.

The group gets inside the Lion Temple, sparing no time to pack their bags with Chi. Lagravis having no idea the sacred pool is getting emptied, neither does Laval who tries to escape the battlefield with Eris. the two are separated when Eris is attacked by a Raven, Rogon rhino charging through the attacker and promises Eris she's okay. Eris asking if he was due to what he's been doing all day.

Just in case of any casualties, Woriz's men charge themselves up with the Chi they've gained, Woriz himself stating that with the amount they have not even Lion walls can withstand their power, and he was true as they blast their way outside, that blast gaining the worried attention of Laval, Lagravis and Cragger, Laval promising he'll check on it. So to do that, Eris uses her charm to get Rogon to charge through and leave a line for them to escape the battlefield with.

But before they do, an extremely worried little brother reaches the temple first, questioning Crooler on her choices after Woriz promises she'll get half the amount of chi they stole when she destroys the pledge. Not wanting to answer and explain, Crooler tries to mind control Cragger again but finally he rejects the persuader plant by slapping it away and asking why she always uses it, Crooler coming up with the excuse that she loves him. An impatient Woriz interrupts their conversation, demanding she go escape with them but Cragger verbally plans to keep the wolves frozen still.

Crooler finally shows her true colors, yelling at her little brother to not ruin their plans “for once”, Cragger screaming out that if he isn't a part of a plan to steal Chi then there shouldn't be one.

His mind must be made up soon though when Lagravis accepts his defeat by the crowd's violence and to retreat back into the temple and lock it down. The tribes furiously chucking random items at the lions, Lagravis complaining, “this is a sad day for Chima”, along with the confirmation that the races are to be canceled from now on, for at least a few months.

On the other hand, Cragger confronts the wolf pack on their loyalty, Woriz answering that they've abandoned whatever promise they made in the past, so much as comparing their strength and numbers to that of Cragger who thinks Crooler as an ally, but is backed away from.

He questions her while the wolves march up on him, Crooler explaining that she's winning for a change. Luckily some once were enemies arrive as reinforcements when Eris, Rogon and Laval come to the rescue.

The showdown begins with a slight awkward pause at the beginning because of confusion on Rogon being in love with Laval, who corrects it on being Eris. Rogon charges at the two wolves, Woriz facing off against Cragger and Laval who say their displeasure on being allies, even if it's just for this once. But at least they have a common goal, “FOR CHIMA!”.

Iron faces off against iron, Crooler even participating in the fight by picking up Eris and throwing her to the ground, Rogon looking to rhino charge right through her for Eris's vengeance. The same cycle continues, Woriz being reinforced by Wilhurt and Winzar. Laval and Cragger are circled, Cragger complaining about the power their enemy has with the Chi.

So to gain the upper hand, Laval proposes “that game we used to play when we were kids”, Cragger actually nodding in acceptance to it. First, they lock arms together, Cragger tossing Laval to Winzar, and Laval using Cragger's tail to spin him around and hit Wilhurt. Surprised by their power, Woriz howls for Windra who comes into battle with a helicopter and blasts heavy damage to their main problem.

Laval and Cragger escape her massive firepower, but she turns around and aims for the weaker subjects, Rogon sacrificing himself for Eris by getting in the way of the blast, that being when Eris actually gets feelings for the brave Rhino whom she holds up with her wing.

The wolves attempt to escape with their plunder in the helicopter, a few orbs falling out of the bags and back onto solid Earth. Committed to getting all of it back, Cragger faces Woriz while they both hold on to the side rails of the flying vehicle, taking his attention away from how high up he was, only taking notice when he hears Laval's voice questioning his bravery, turning into a little bit of fear.

To get him off, Windra puts the helicopter on auto-pilot and stomps on Cragger's fingers while he faces off against Woriz, their weight making the vehicle tilt that the bags of Chi fall from its clutches, sadly their troops on land quickly obtain it. That's when Laval learns he needs to make a choice, Chi or Life.

He's then forced to save Cragger when Windra manages to get him off. By the power of a Chi, Laval uses it to save Cragger's life but crash lands with him. The young crocodile king doesn't take notice of the pain however, when the only thing he can think about, is Crooler, because if you think about it, Crooler is actually the only family he has right now, even if she doesn't act like it.

Heartbroken and betrayed, he just whispers a strong heart feeling, “Crooler…” while that exact person stares at her little brother, not even knowing if she made the right choice or not. She escapes with the Chi.

AFTERMATH:

Now that they've escaped, both the wolves and Crooler park their vehicles by the gorge. As promised, Woriz rewards Crooler with her 50% of the Chi and demands she give them their freedom. Silent and guilty, she meaninglessly says what the destruction of the pledge will mean, Woriz explaining that they'll give tribute to Crominus's death by putting it to rest with him.

She then questions herself on betrayal and pretends to enjoy the word “victory”, simply driving off to a Swamp that would probably not even welcome her return. The wolves having nothing to say, Woriz smiling at their victory.

Back at the Lion Temple, the incident has reached the knowledge of everyone. Crawley and Crug escort a speechless and injured Cragger back home, while Laval blames himself for being too weak to do anything. Lagravis comforts him, saying that saving Cragger was the right choice, and complaining that Rogon's health might not heal that quickly.

Surrounded by Eris and more Rhino's, Rogon whispers in a Rhino's ear “a dying Rhino’s request”. Which is none other than a kiss from Eris. not even awkwardly surprised and rejecting, Eris actually kisses him on the cheek. Just like that, Rogon is overfilled with joy and hops up and down, celebrating his victory over Eris. The female Eagle being extremely annoyed and infuriated, Rogon explaining excitedly that the power of “true love's kiss” healed him. She does nothing but growl in annoyance, Laval laughing.

A SPECIAL ENDING:

For some unknown reason, it's night time in the gorge. The pledge of the pack finally reaches solid ground. Suddenly in the cloak of darkness and through the mist, a figure that represented the shape of a crocodile approached, picking up the pledge and making his way somewhere.

No doubt, this unknown figure is 100% king Crominus.

What will this mean for Cragger though? Let's see!Trivia

  • before the outro of the episode, a strange figure picks up the pledge of the pack from the Gorge.
