- This article is about the Minifigure. For the theme, see Harry Potter (Theme).
Harry Potter is a minifigure of the wizard Harry Potter, and appears in 38 of the 50 Harry Potter themed sets, two magnet sets, one store exclusive (the Target exclusive 4768 The Durmstrang Ship), a "Minifigure Gallery," and is set to be released in five more LEGO products in 2011, making Harry more common than any other minifigure from the theme, Harry Potter. He is also the main character in the video games LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 and LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7. Harry is the only minifigure from the Harry Potter line to appear in at least one set from every Harry Potter subtheme.
Background
Harry Potter is the main character of the series. He has a scar shaped like a lightning-bolt on his forehead, along with messy black hair.
He is a good friend of Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. His parents, James Potter and Lily Evans, were killed by Lord Voldemort. Harry was also nearly killed by Voldemort the same day his parents were, but because his mother gave her life to protect him, the killing curse rebounded off him (giving him a lightning-bolt scar) and onto Voldemort, which destroyed his body (a part of his soul came off and went into Harry's scar making him a horcrux. He was not killed though, thanks to the horcruxes, but had to flee as a spirit).
Harry is a skilled broom rider and competes in the aerial sport of Quidditch. He is in Gryffindor House at the British wizardry school of Hogwarts.
He also has a soft spot for Ron's sister, Ginny Weasley.
During his first year at Hogwarts, he saved the Philosopher/Sorcerer's Stone and defeated the evil Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Professor Quirrel, who carried Lord Voldemort on the back of his head.
In his second year, he defeated the Basilisk, a large snake-like creature, and destroyed Tom Riddle's diary horcrux with one of the Basilisk's fang inside the Chamber of Secrets.
In his third year, he fought off more than a hundred Dementors and rescued the innocent wizard, Sirius Black, from being punished for a crime was falsely convicted of twelve years ago.
In Harry's fourth year at Hogwarts, he competed in the tri-wizard tournament, witnessed the Dark Lord Voldemort's re-birth, and fought him.
In his fifth year, Harry and his friends organize a rebellion to learn self defense against the wishes of the Ministry of Magic and the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Professor Umbridge, and Harry faced Voldemort once again.
In his sixth year, Harry is informed by Professor Dumbledore that Voldemort has been hiding objects of personal meaning that contain fragments of his soul (horcruxes) at locations that have meaning to him They also find out that Dumbledore destroyed the ring horcrux leaving only four horcruxes left (actually five but it is not known at that time). These horcruxes must be destroyed if Voldemort is to be defeated. The year ended with the death of Dumbledore, giving the Dark Lord an advantage as the only one he had ever feared was gone.
In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Harry, Ron, and Hermione embark on a quest outside of Hogwarts to discover and destroy the five remaining horcruxes. The year ends with the Battle for Hogwarts, which resulted in a final duel between Harry and Voldemort. Voldemort and his Death Eaters were defeated, bringing an end to their terror in the wizarding world.
He married Ginny and has two boys and one girl (In birth order: James, Albus, and Lily) in the epilogue.
