Harumi is a Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu Minifigure introduced in 2018. She is the Princess of Ninjago and secretly the leader of the Sons of Garmadon, under the alias of "The Quiet One". She is the main antagonist of Season 8 and the secondary antagonist of Season 9 and Season 15.

Description[]

In the 70643 Temple of Resurrection Harumi uses the same helmet and hair piece as Koko (Misako)'s "Lady Iron Dragon" persona from The LEGO Ninjago Movie, but with white hair and gold helmet rather than red and black. Harumi appears in the 70643 Temple of Resurrection wearing her royal robes along with her white hair piece, floral, cape, and kabuki style face paint.

In her non-decorated princess form, exclusive to the animated series: Harumi's hair piece and head are similar to those of Koko's The LEGO Ninjago Movie civilian form, except that her hair is white and her lipstick is dark red. She also wears a green hoodie over her royal robes.

In the 70651 Throne Room Showdown and 70658 Oni Titan sets, Harumi uses the same hair piece as the Spooky Girl and from 71007 Minifigures Series 12 and Ava Prentis from Nexo Knights, but in white instead of black. She has a unique head print with red face paint over her eyes, and wears her black and purple uniform as seen in Dread on Arrival. Harumi also comes with two red katanas.

In 5005257 Ninjago Minifigure Collection, Harumi appears in her stone form taken on when she wears the Oni Mask of Hatred. Her version of the mask is printed with parted teeth, and she has a unique double-sided gray head with smug and angry expressions. She wears the same rock-like shoulder armor as Ultra Violet in 70641 Ninja Nightcrawler, but has unique gray legs and torso depicting her royal robes in stone form.

In 71708 Gamer's Market, Harumi appears as an Avatar; in the series this design was used for a virtual clone of her. This version uses the same face and hair as her Throne Room Showdown incarnation, but wears a yellow jumpsuit.

The 2022 version of Harumi, featured in 71772 The Crystal King, reuses her Hunted and Avatar hairpiece, while her head is now printed with purple eyes. She comes with a new printed torso which she shares with the other Vengestone Generals: Aspheera, the Mechanic, Mr. F, Pythor, and Vangelis. She also sports new printed legs that she shares with all of the other generals except Aspheera and Pythor, and is the only general to come without the new translucent pink shoulder armor element.

Background[]

Sons of Garmadon[]

Harumi was a young child during the events of Day of the Great Devourer, during which her parents were killed by the Great Devourer while she survived. The traumatic events led to her being unresponsive when she was attended to by medical personnel, and a nurse remarked that Harumi was "the quiet one", which would lead to her eventual pseudonym. She was later adopted by the Emperor and Empress of Ninjago, becoming the Jade Princess. However, in her grief Harumi came to blame Lloyd for her parents' deaths due to his role in events leading to the Great Devourer's release, and saw his father Lord Garmadon as a hero for slaying the beast.

Harumi eventually became the leader of the Sons of Garmadon, though she operated through agents like Mr. E in order to conceal her involvement. In The Mask of Deception she and her family appear in public as her adopted father addresses the people of Ninjago, and she later invites the Ninja into the Palace of Secrets in gratitude for their protection. She later sneaks out of the palace in The Jade Princess and is followed by Lloyd, and reveals that she was taking food to the less fortunate. Noticing Lloyd's obvious attraction to her, she feigns similar feelings, but the pair are interrupted by her guard Hutchins. Hutchins then escorts Harumi back to the palace where the emperor and empress are waiting. Shortly after the emperor and empress voice their disapproval of Harumi's actions, the ninja discover the palace is under attack by the Sons of Garmadon. After the Sons of Garmadon set fire to the palace, Lloyd escapes with her aboard the Destiny's Bounty 3.0.

Aboard Destiny's Bounty, Harumi attempts to adapt to life with the ninja while continuing to send information back to the Sons of Garmadon. In Dead Man's Squall Harumi hacks into PIXAL's system and causes her to attack the ninja and Bounty. As the ship crashes Lloyd and Harumi get thrown off on PIXAL's Samurai X Mech while the rest of the ninja are stuck on the plummeting ship. In The Quiet One the ninja have all crash landed on opposite sides of the island with the ninja on one and Harumi and Lloyd on the other. As Harumi and Lloyd attempt to find the Oni Temple where the last Oni mask the Mask of Hatred is hidden, they are attacked by a creature in the jungle. Harumi kills the beast so quickly that she raises Lloyd's suspicion. As Lloyd asks questions her Harumi kisses him in an attempt to throw him off. Lloyd forgets about his suspicions and they continue on their journey. At the Oni Temple Harumi and Lloyd find the Mask of Hatred but, as Harumi reaches for it she is unable to touch the mask. Harumi tells Lloyd that it can only be touched by someone with Oni blood.

Lloyd then takes the mask and as he is about to give it to Harumi, he realizes that he never told her he was part Oni and accuses her of being The Quiet One. Harumi denies these claims at first but, then tries to attack Lloyd with a knife. Harumi takes the mask and leaves Lloyd in the cave to drown. Harumi meets up with the rest of the Sons of Garmadon outside the cave but is then confronted by the ninja. Harumi then flees with the rest of the Sons of Garmadon along with Lloyd who escaped in the Destiny's Bounty. Upon returning to Ninjago, Harumi fully reveals her true self as the Quiet One. In Dread on Arrival, Harumi attempts to resurrect Lord Garmadon from the Departed Realm in a ceremony that requires strands of Lloyd's, Sensei Wu's, and Misako's(who she captured) hair along with the three Oni masks. However, the ceremony is interrupted by the ninja and Harumi is arrested by the police. Unfortunately, the ceremony did work and Lord Garmadon is successfully resurrected from the dead in True Potential. Lord Garmadon then frees Harumi from prison and the two regroup with the rest of the Sons of Garmadon at Kryptarium Prison.

Harumi trains Lord Garmadon on how to use his power to destroy his son Lloyd and become unstoppable. Once Lloyd arrives at Kryptarium in Big Trouble, Little Ninjago, Harumi instructs Garmadon to kill Lloyd and airs the fight live to the rest of Ninjago so the citizens can witness the rise of their new emperor; Garmadon. Garmadon defeats Lloyd and Lloyd loses his powers, but the ninja are able to rescue him. Harumi and the rest of the Sons of Garmadon then search the city for Lloyd and the ninja. As the ninja fly through the city on Destiney's Bounty, Harumi attacks Lloyd and separates him from the others. Harumi defeats a now powerless Lloyd and forces him to helplessly watch as Destiny's Bounty is destroyed by Garmadon's rock mech with all the Ninja except Nya on it. Lloyd manages to escape but, Ninjago city is now in ruin and at the mercy of Emperor Garmadon. Harumi acts as Garmadon's right-hand woman and assists with the destruction and hunting down of all who challenge the Sons of Garmadon.

Hunted[]

Secrets of Forbidden Spinjitzu[]

Lloyd mentions Harumi as he is recounting his history to "Red", unaware that the wolf is in fact Akita of the Formlings. Upon learning the truth about her identity, Lloyd is upset, though Akita retorts that she didn't ask for him to recount his life story. While the pair are briefly bickering, Akita bitingly questions whether Lloyd's plans for defeating the Ice Emperor include telling him about Harumi.

Prime Empire[]

In "Stop, Drop and Side Scroll", a computerized duplicate of Harumi is created to face off with Lloyd in Prime Empire. Stunned by her appearance, Lloyd is initially caught off guard and left unable to fight back against her. However, when Lloyd questions “Harumi” about their time together, she is unable to recall what they did the night that they first met. Realizing that the avatar is not the real Harumi, Lloyd is able to fight back against her. He succeeds in defeating her and winning the Keytana for the Ninja, but Avatar Harumi costs Lloyd his last in-game life.

Master of the Mountain[]

Upon meeting Vania in "Into the Dark", Lloyd becomes suspicious of her and warns Cole not to trust her. Cole dismisses his concerns, and then wonder aloud whether Lloyd's attitude is based on what happened between him and Harumi.

Crystalized[]

In "A Painful Promise", Harumi-cloaked and hooded and wearing a blue and white kabuki mask-speaks to Aspheera via a hologram projected by a Crystal Spider and offers her a place on the Council of the Crystal King. In "Ninjago City vs. Ninja", . In "Kryptarium Prison Blues", Harumi appears again to make an offer of membership on the council to Pythor, freeing him from Kryptarium in the process. In "The Fifth Villain", Harumi-still in her masked guise-uses a Crystal Spider hologram to communicate with Lloyd, who is in disguise as the Mechanic; upon his acceptance of her offer, she instructs him to follow the spider to the council meeting.

In "The Council of the Crystal King", Harumi appears to the assembled members of the council and reveals that she is not the Crystal King, but his ambassador. When Vangelis demeans her role, she warns him that the gifts of the Crystal King and his freedom from imprisonment can easily be revoked. She then reveals, via footage projected by a Crystal Spider, that Lloyd is an impostor, prompting the other villains to attack him. As he lies on the verge of unconsciousness, Harumi questions whether or not he can sense her true identity, and repeats her spider song as she removes her mask and reveals her face to him, much to his horror.

In "A Sinister Shadow", Harumi reveals to Lloyd that she was the mysterious Vengestone merchant that was buying the large quantity of Vengestone to create the Crystal King's army and gathered a number of the ninja's foes. Lloyd expressed to Harumi his feelings for her despite her not returning them. Feeling shocked, Harumi confronted him about why he didn't go to look for her. Lloyd expressed that he did search for her through the rubble with his bare hands, but to no avail. Harumi soon announces her plans to Lloyd in regard to the monastery and the Golden Weapons.

In "The Spider's Design", Harumi has Lloyd placed into a Vengestone crafted cage above a pool of lava, to have him witness the progress of her plans. Lloyd tried to convince Harumi that she doesn't want to get innocent people hurt. Harumi thought about it sadly, but a sudden purple glow in her eyes said otherwise. Harumi claimed that she knew of Lloyd's "strong" part that he has been repressing for a long time and when Lloyd is knocked out by Mister F, Harumi welcomes him back as, in Harumi's words, "son of Garmadon".

However, in "Dragon Form" when the Overlord reveals to Garmadon how he created the Great Devourer, Harumi heard this revelation as well but not only discovered the truth but also discovered that the ninja were never the ones to blame. Since the Great Devourer killed her parents when it attacked Ninjago City, this made Harumi realize that it was the Overlord who indirectly caused everything in Harumi's life to fall apart. Harumi officially turned on the Overlord and called him out for what he had done to her.

In "Roots" Harumi continued to help in the fight against the Crystal King. Upon seeing Lloyd in his Oni form, Harumi was shocked despite her trying to coax the Oni side out of Lloyd for most of the season. After Lloyd returns to normal and the golden Ultra Dragon joins the fight, Harumi obeys Lloyd's wishes to take cover. Once The Overlord is destroyed, Harumi reunites with Lloyd and, to prevent history from repeating itself in "Saving Faith", Lloyd saves Harumi from the collapsing temple and joins the Ninja in celebration upon Lloyd and Garmadon explaining everything. She is last seen helping the Ninja rebuild the Monastery, waving to Lloyd as she passed, knowing that she started to have a good relationship with the Ninjas.
