Hero Factory is a LEGO theme that was released on July 13, 2010. It is the successor of BIONICLE. On the boxes and canisters of the sets it says "From the makers of BIONICLE."

Background

The storyline is based in Makuhero City.[1] The main building of the city is the Assembly Tower, a 589 meters high, 715 meters wide and 924 meters long tower.[1] It is driven by "cold fusion" and it employs a total of 11,127 employees.[1] This tower is the "Hero Factory" that constructs various robot heroes which are sent out when the call center receives calls from victims. They can report their emergency and call on a robotic hero. Founder of the Hero Factory is Akiyama Makuro. [2]

Inside the Assembly Tower, these heroes are built every day. They are the product of work from design experts and robot construction specialists. These robotic heroes are fitted with solid fibre-carbide plating, Quaza cores and equipped with helmets and equipment to fight evil with guts and gadgets. Once constructed, they are placed in special hero pods and beamed across the galaxy and across time to defeat evil and solve their various missions.

Games

  • Define your own Villain: Define your own Villain is their first game on the Hero Factory Website. In it you can click and drag arms, legs, heads, weapons, and torsos to make a villain. There are also extras (tails) and backgrounds. The villains cannot be colored and so remain entirely black. They are also 2D.
  • Build a Hero: The game is not yet linked to but it is on the HF site. You can make a hero by dragging a head, torso, and weapon from any of the six HF heroes. You then drag a color from the color pallet onto the legs and core, head, torso and leg armor, and arms and weapon. You can then name these heroes and use them in the third Hero Factory game. They are in 3D.
  • Mission: Von Nebula: Mission: Von Nebula is Hero Factory's largest game. In it, you use a hero made in the Hero Creator to beat missions and gain items. After making a hero, you choose it's name and whether it's a fighter, gunner, or engineer. In between missions, you can buy items and power packs Big Joe. You can also upgrade things once per level. There's a floating robot named Qataal who you can use to verify your codes and get rewards. To go to missions, there is both a Call Center Operator named Lucy who gives a mission based on your level and Zib who is in charge of mission control- he gives you the storyline missions.
