Imperial Pilots were members of the Imperial Navy responsible for flying Imperial transport vessels. So far the Imperial Pilot has appeared in five sets and two video games.
Description
Imperial pilots wear a black hat and uniform. Over the years the design of the imperial pilot has changed. The imperial pilot, released in 2001, sported a simple, one-sided torso and utilized the old police hat. This was also the only variant of the imperial officer which featured the yellow skin tone.
The second version of the imperial pilot adopted the torso piece of the other imperial navy officers and also featured a black kepi.
The third variation of the imperial pilot kept the black kepi from the second version but came with a new torso, reflecting a more complicated design.
The final variant of the imperial pilot closely resembles the previous version, with the simple addition of the new imperial hat.
Background
Imperial pilots were members of the Imperial Navy responsible for the command of the empire's larger vessels. This included star destroyers, imperial shuttles and landing crafts. The role of Imperial Pilots differs from TIE pilots, who were primarily responsible for the operation of the Galactic Empire's attack vessels.
Notes
Only one variant of the imperial pilot has been released in more than one set, all prior versions only saw a single release.
