Jake the Snake Blake[1] is a Pirates minifigure that appears in the 1996 set, 6289 Red Beard Runner.

Description[]

Jake the Snake Blake wears an earth orange tricorne hat, black pants, a red ragged shirt with a knife strapped to a belt over a bright yellow torso, and a grey hook for a hand. He has the same eyepatch and brown bearded face as Captain Ironhook, which in turn is a slight variant of Captain Redbeard's head.

In 5702 LEGO Chess, Jake the Snake Blake is depicted without his hook and with grey pants during gameplay, but still has his hook and black pants in the opening and ending cinematic cutscenes. As a Knight on the white side, his red shirt is recolored blue.

Background[]

Jake the Snake Blake is a crew member of the Red Beard Runner. In the March-April 1996 The Adventures of the LEGO Maniac, Jake tells George to grab the gold from the Armada Flagship.

In 5702 LEGO Chess, Jake the Snake Blake acts as the Knight of the Pirates-themed chess set. He is accompanied by a tamed crocodile, which he often uses to capture other chess pieces during cutscenes. In the opening cinematic, Jake can be seen in the background, being chased by seagulls. In the ending cinematic, Jake is among the Pirates and Western characters applauding the player.

In 5706 LEGOLAND, Jake the Snake Blake is present at the boating school, standing at the steer.

Notes[]

  • Jake the Snake Blake is very similar to Captain Ironhook, although they are considered separate characters due to Jake having a different name and being a member of Redbeard's crew.
