This article is about the Jedi Knight from Episode II. You may be looking for the Jedi Knight from The Old Republic.

Jedi Bob,[1][2] originally known generically as a Jedi Knight,[3] is a LEGO Jedi Knight minifigure from the Star Wars theme. He was first introduced in 2002.

In 2024, he was reintroduced with the full name Bobarian Afol.

Description[]

Jedi Bob comes with all standard LEGO minifigure body parts. In his original 2002 release, he has a completely earth orange leg piece, a dark grey tunic for his torso piece, completely dark grey arm pieces, two bright yellow hands, and a yellow head. The head piece depicts a man with two black dot eyes, a grey beard, two grey eyebrows and a confident white smile. This Jedi Knight possessed an earth orange cape, earth orange hood, and a transparent flourescent green lightsaber with metalized silver hilt.

Jedi Bob's 2024 rerelease updates retired colors, replacing earth orange with reddish brown, dark grey with dark stone grey, transparent flourescent green with transparent bright green, and metalized silver with silver ink. His face and torso prints are slightly worn akin to Benny, and his face is now dual-sided with the alternate expression being serious. Unlike all other Star Wars human characters since 2004, Jedi Bob retains the original bright yellow skin.

Background[]

Jedi Bob is an original character originally created to represent any generic Jedi Knight. This Jedi Knight was known to have participated in the Battle of Geonosis and flown on a Republic Gunship along with four Clone Troopers. He is likely to have fought against at least one Droideka and two Super Battle Droids, using his green-bladed lightsaber. Further information about this Jedi's history is unknown due to the ransacking of the Jedi Temple during the Jedi Purge, which destroyed many records in the Archives.[1]

LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy[]

Jedi Bob was once a padawan on Alistan Nor, who overtime grew curious of the cornerstone and it's power to remake galaxies whole. Wanting to know the truth about the existence and the abilities of the cornerstone, he went to his masters, who later denied him permission on searching for the cornerstone. Jedi Bob ignored these orders and found the cornerstone, removing it from the temple and causing his galaxy to be eradicated and a new one is fully created. After Jedi Bob placed the Cornerstone on a newly discovered Jedi Temple on Fennessa, he decided to reside in the temple and protect the galaxy from being remade.

Years later, two nerf herders, Sig Greebling and Dev Greebling discovered the temple after being inadvertently pushed off a cliff by their Gonk Droid SR-VO. Dev pressures Sig into removing the cornerstone, and just as Jedi Bob was about to tell them off, he saw that it was too late, and the galaxy was remade for a second time. Jedi Bob would later rescue Sig and Yesi Scala from the captivity of Darth Dev and his army of Ackbar Troopers at Dev's castle, and Yesi leads the group to the space port, but her ship is destroyed by Dev, and Jedi Bob ends up building his own ship, a Mobile Tac-Pod to escape with instead, they are later involved in a pursuit with Dev but escape after Jedi Bob upgrades the ship with Quadjumper parts.

In the Mobile Tac-Pod, Jedi Bob agrees to help Sig Greebling restore the galaxy while hiding the fact that it's impossible, and thus takes Sig as his force builder padawan, but during his training, they are interrupted by Ewok bounty hunters and C-3PO but evade the intruders by escaping to Tatooine after SR-VO powers the hyperdrive with a charge. In Tatooine the group meets with Luke Skywalker in the Mos Eisley Marina Cantina where he shows disapproval in restoring the galaxy after Sig tells him his chronicle from the old galaxy. Leaving the Cantina, Jedi Bob, Sig, Yesi, and SR-VO run into Darth Rey and a squad of Ackbar Troopers. Jedi Bob absmally duels Rey and loses, and matters are made worse when Darth Dev and his syndicate of Sith arrive in the Dark Falcon where Jedi Bob struggles with trying to take the Cornerstone from Darth Dev.

With the help of Luke Skywalker in his podracer. Jedi Bob and his group are able to take back the cornerstone, but are chased by the group of Sith in the Dark Falcon using the Death Star reminiscent laser until Sig leads the group into an immobile trash compactor. Sig, Jedi Bob and the rest of the group now including Skywalker are interrupted in their escape by Darth Jar Jar, who is seemingly killed by Jedi Bob after he drops a fossil on top of the Sith Warrior, and they escape in Luke's Landspeeder. The group later decide seek help from the new galaxy's Jedi, where they are met with the Grand Master Palpatine and the rest of the new Jedi Council such as Jedi Vader. Palpatine expresses disapproval in helping Sig and Jedi Bob, but later helps the former connect to the force to find the newly built Jedi Temple in Dagobah. After a lecture by Sig, Palpatine finally agrees to help him and Jedi bob restore the cornerstone. With the help of General Leia, they are given 2 new pilots, Han Solo and Greedo in their Slave I to travel to Dagobah.

Jedi Bob and Sig later find the newly built Jedi Temple, but were intercepted by Darth Dev thanks to the spy, Han Solo, transmitting the location of their group. Darth Dev reveals that Jedi Bob was lying to Sig about the galaxy being restored once the Cornerstone was locked in place. Jedi Bob reluctantly reveals the truth to Sig, where the later questions the reality of his galaxy. Jedi Bob is injured in a force duel with Dev and Sig is taken to the The Separator. After Sig is chased by Darth Tico and Darth "Hammerhead" back at Fennesa, Jedi Bob arrives in a force builder starfighter, and builds Sig one of his own to escape Fennesa and steal back the Cornerstone from the Separator. And with the help of the Rebellion, Jedi Bob and Sig are able to board the Separator, but Sig stops Jedi demanding answers as to why he lied to him. Jedi Bob responds in contrite claiming he didn't want to break his heart, and Sig forgives him.

The two later encounter Dev in the separator and Sig tries to convince and rekindle with his Sith Lord brother, but to no avail, as Dev decimates the entire rebel fleet except the Jedi's Sandwalker hybrid. Jedi Bob gives Sig his lightsaber to distract Dev so that he could try and remove the cornerstone from the ship's core. Jedi Bob doesn't succeed in removing the cornerstone and is later injured after Dev shocks him with Force Lightning, leaving Sig to try and take the cornerstone from Dev in which he succeeds. After Dev inadvertently destroys the Separator by shooting Force Lightning into Sig's herding stick. And the two escape in force builder starfighters. Jedi Bob and Sig lock the cornerstone into the Jedi Temple and earth it to prevent the galaxy from being reset yet again. Jedi Bob, Sig, Yesi and SR-VO later set a trip to Alistan Nor so that Jedi Bob could continue training Sig, leaving Dagobah aboard the Dark Falcon.

Naming[]

From 2002 until 2009, this minifigure has been known only as "Jedi Knight" from the product description of the 7163 Republic Gunship. Later on in the year 2009, the 2853402 LEGO Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary was released and his minifigure was given an entry titled "Jedi Bob". However, the entry does state that his name only may have been Bob.[1] It is more likely that the name was given to him for lack of a better name or him simply being an anonymous character, with no basis. The rerelease of the character in 2024 made the name "Jedi Bob" official, with the name featured prominently in LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy and 75388 Jedi Bob's Starfighter.
