Jock Clouseau[1][2] is an Aquazone Aquanauts minifigure released in 1995.
Description[]
Jock Clouseau has a diving suit consisting of a white torso with blue printing; white hips and hands; bright blue legs; and black arms. His helmet is white with a transparent blue visor. His head is printed with black hair, eyebrows, and stubble, along with a red headband marked with the letter "C".[2] In 6104 Aquacessories, he is equipped with bright blue flippers.
Background[]
Jock Clouseau harvests Hydrolator Crystals with the crane at Neptune Discovery Lab. He also runs a chain of underwater sub shops serving kelp burgers (his favorite food), seaweed salad, plankton pizza,[1] and plankton pasta.[2] However, when invited over for holiday dinner, the rest of the Clouseau family does not think so highly of Jock's cooking and instead orders out for pizza.[3] Although his favorite sport is octopus wrestling, he still has not yet won a match.[1] He tends to speak in surfer slang, using words like "cowabunga" and "radical".[4]
Jock Clouseau, Captain Red Beard, Becky Blastinoff, and King Richard team up to deliver presents for the "Holly Jolly Holiday Helper" contest,[5] and are seen delivering presents throughout the November-December 1995 issue of LEGO Mania Magazine. In The Adventures of the LEGO Maniac, they are sledding down a hill when they are trapped in an avalanche. Jock tries to dig out and argues with Red Beard whether it will work. The LEGO Maniac reminds them to work together, and Jock adds his hydro-prop engine to their Super Sled.[4]
In the "LEGO Guess the Gift Contest", Jock, Dr. Cyber, the Admiral, and Ann Droid chipped in to purchase a vehicle for the LEGO Maniac. Thresher purchased the vehicle and gift-wrapped it, but would not tell the others what it is. Jock bets that it is the Crystal Explorer Sub.[6]

Notes[]
- Jock Clouseau's name is a pun on the French name Jacques Clouseau. Although this may be a reference to the fictional character Inspector Jacques Clouseau, it may alternatively intended as a reference to the similarly-named Jacques Cousteau, a famous underwater researcher. Jock himself mentions Jacques Cousteau in The Adventures of the LEGO Maniac,[7] making it a likely connection.
- Throughout the November-December 1995 issue of LEGO Mania Magazine, Jock Clouseau's appearance varies between two different Aquanaut minifigures: the one with the headband, and the one with red hair. While the red-haired Aquanaut is used in his profile[1] and various photos of him delivering presents for the "Holly Jolly Holiday Helper" contest, the headband-wearing Aquanaut is used on the front cover[8] and in the comic.[4] The November-December 1996 issue and various Shop At Home 1996 catalogs identify the headband-wearing Aquanaut as Jock without any ambiguity.[6][2][3]
- Since the headband is marked with the letter "C", which may stand for "Clouseau", it can be assumed that the headband-wearing Aquanaut is more likely the correct Jock Clouseau.
