Kingo is a Marvel Super Heroes minifigure released in 2021 as part of the Eternals sub-series of sets.
Background[]
Comics[]
Kingo is one of the Eternals, a race of immortal beings fueled by cosmic energy. They were created by the Celestials, a group of cosmic beings who visited Earth in ancient times. Kingo lived in Japan, working as an actor in samurai movies.
Marvel Cinematic Universe[]
Kingo is a member of the Eternals, a group of immortal beings created by the Celestial Arishem, with the power to generate projectile-based energy from his hands. His mission alongside his team was to rid Earth of Deviants - monstrous beasts causing destruction across the planet, and that once they were defeated, he and the team could go to a paradise-like afterlife called Olympia. After defeating them, the Eternals disbanded for thousands of years, leading Kingo to star in Bollywood movies during this time.
Kingo was later approached by fellow Eternals Ikaris, Sersi and Sprite to inform him of team leader Ajak’s death, as well as the reappearance of Deviants. He joined them on their mission to reunite the other Eternals: Gilgamesh, Thena, Phastos, Makkari and Druig. However, Gilgamesh is killed by Kro after Devuants discover Druig’s hiding place.
He eventually learns that Olympia doesn’t actually exist, and the team has been manipulated by a Arishem for centuries. He also learns that the Deviants were simply a nuisance in Arishem’s plan to have another Celestial named Tiamut emerge from Earth, which would destroy all life on the planet in the process, creating the possibility of new life elsewhere.
He is also informed that Ikaris knew of Arishem’s full plan since the Eternals first formed. Feeling betrayed by his friend, though still believing Arishem’s intentions to be good, Kingo refuses to fight Ikaris, and leaves the group once more. After Tiamut is killed by the other Eternals, Kingo helps a now human Sprite adjust to the modern world.
However, this new life is uprooted after he, Sersi and Phastos are abducted by Arishem and taken away.
