LEGO Creator: Harry Potter is a video game developed and published by LEGO Software. It was released in 2001, at the same time as the film and subtheme Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
It is the third title in the LEGO Creator series and the first LEGO Harry Potter. LEGO Creator: Harry Potter lets players construct and play with three dimensional interiors in a virtual LEGO world where they can recreate the mystical environments from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
In addition to the range of classic LEGO bricks, players can use all-new features taken straight from the Harry Potter sets. Design and build train tracks for the Hogwarts Express to follow, or build furniture from LEGO bricks for the various rooms of a virtual Hogwarts Castle. LEGO Creator: Harry Potter also features a new 3-D character designer that allows players to build their own minifigures. Then, click on the virtual Sorting Hat to place them into the appropriate Hogwarts houses. How the Hogwarts pupils interact with each other will depend on what house they are from. For example, a Slytherin minifigure may react differently to a Gryffindor than they do to a Ravenclaw student.
There are twelve optional challenges that add to the interactive play, including the option to download new LEGO bricks and virtual models from LEGO.com. The game also gives players the ability to create building instructions so that they can build their own virtual models using real LEGO bricks.
It got a sequel in 2002, called Creator: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

Development
The game originally started out as a Life on Mars themed LEGO Creator title, however when the opportunity arose to make a Harry Potter title the theme was switched to that.[1]
