LEGO Discovery Center Washington, D.C. is a LEGOLAND Discovery Centre located in Springfield, Virginia, USA and serving the greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Opened on August 9, 2023, the 32,000 square foot LEGOLAND Discovery Center features a cinema, cafe, and various attractions.

  • Imagination Express: Step aboard the Imagination Express and travel through a giant LEGO® world! From a huge bubble bath to outer space, travel through this world full of adventure! Collect points along the way with your magic wand but watch out for moles and space pirates! Who will have the most points at the end of the journey?
  • 4D Cinema: Prepare to be blown away by an incredible 4D cinema experience! Enjoy an immersive adventure like no other! Whether it rains, winds or even snows in the film, it will also happen in the theatre thanks to its own weather system!
  • Mini World: Fasten your seatbelts and go on an adventure in MINI World! You'll discover a world where the imagination knows no boundaries! It's mostly a fantasy world, but you'll also find some of Washington DC's most recognisable places! Can you recognise each one? Go in quest of the hidden Minifigures! Can you guess what they are doing? You will also have the opportunity to interact with some areas and take your own Minifigure picture in MINI World.
  • Creative Club: Sit down at one of the tables in the Creative Club and let your imagination run wild. Get inspired by the different LEGO® magazines or by the different activities organised by our Playmakers: mosaics, portraits, ... They will be happy to help you build your dream creation!
  • Build Adventures: Let your imagination run wild in this LEGO® world of play and creation! Put your building skills to the test by creating your own LEGO car and launch it off the ramps! Challenge your friends and family to a race and ask our Playmakers for their tips and tricks to build a super-fast car! Who will win the race?
  • Minifigure Creator: Start your adventure in the LEGO® World by creating your own companion who will follow you throughout your journey in the different areas of the attraction. You'll be able to customize your Minifigure with a torso, a head, legs, and a hat! There's something for everyone! Take some pictures of your Minifigure in the different interactive zones and terminals in the attraction.
  • LEGO Cafe: Take a break and grab some food and drink at the LEGO cafe.
  • Tree of Imagination: The Tree of Imagination is the first and last LEGO® construction you will see when you visit the LEGO Discovery Center. You won't be able to miss it thanks to its rainbow of colours! Come, take a closer look! You'll see that it contains a magical world! Gather around this tree to take part in various challenges suggested by the Playmakers and the Master Model Builders, from finding special Minifigures in the MINI World to building challenges. Finally, add your own LEGO brick to the tree!
  • Spaceship Build and Scan: Take part in an exclusive space adventure, only available at the LEGO Discovery Center! Your mission? Build and customise your spaceship, scan it and finally take the controls on your digital space journey! Ready for launch? 5-4-3-2-1 ... Let's go!
  • The Workshop: Do you want to become an expert in LEGO® construction? Join a workshop and meet our Master Model Builders who will share their tips and tricks to improve your LEGO building skills! During these workshops, you will have the opportunity to build very special and different LEGO creations according to the themes proposed by our Master Model Builders. The workshops are organised several times a day, so you will have several opportunities to participate! You will find the schedule of the day at the entrance of the workshop.
  • Hero Zone: Calling all heroes! Unleash your superpowers in the area where LEGO® City meets LEGO NINJAGO®! Take on the various challenges that you will encounter during your adventure! Cross the climbing wall, test your reflexes in an action game and show your agility in the laser maze! There will also be building activities to develop your LEGO skills! Finally, if you still have some super energy left, enjoy our indoor 'Soft Play' playground to unleash it!
  • DUPLO Park: The DUPLO® park has been developed especially for our youngest visitors under the age of 5. Filled with activities and interactive areas, DUPLO Park allows little ones to learn while having fun with their families. Take part in DUPLO duck fishing, spin the construction challenge wheel and take a ride on the dinosaur carousel! Come and experience an unforgettable moment with your toddler!

    • From Franconia - Springfield Metro: Once exiting the metro head west and turn right onto Frontier Drive. The Town Center is 1 mile ahead.
    • From I-95 North: Take 95 North to exit 169A-169B toward VA-644 E/Franconia Rd/Franconia. Continue onto Spring Mall Dr. Turn left onto Springfield Town Center.
    • From I-495 South: Take 495 South to exit 57A toward VA-644 W. Merge onto VA-644 E/Franconia Rd. Use the right 2 lanes to turn slightly right onto Franconia Rd E. Turn right onto Springfield Town Center.
    • From I-395 South:
    • Take 395 South to exit 1B. Use the right 2 lanes to take exit 1B to merge onto Franconia Rd toward Franconia. Follow Franconia Rd to Springfield Town Center. Merge onto Franconia Rd. Use the right 2 lanes to turn slightly right onto Franconia Rd E. Turn right onto Springfield Town Center.
  • Subway: Take the Blue Line southbound to Franconia - Springfield Metro (which is the southbound terminus), which is slightly under a one-mile walk from Springfield Town Center.
  • Commuter Rail: Take the Fredericksburg Line of the Virginia Railway Express to Franconia - Springfield Metro station and walk to Springfield Town Center.
  • Bus: The Fairfax Connector connects to Springfield Town Center via Routes 310, 321, 322, 334, 350, 351, 401, 402, and 494.

  • Regular Admission includes standard admission and a promotional LEGO minifigure. Prices start at $25.99. Gift tickets, which can be gifted to another person and allow for flexible entry (no reservation), start at $30.99.
    • Regular Admission + Collectibles includes all of the above and an exclusive collectible, and starts at $31.99. Gift tickets start at $37.99.
    • Regular Admission + Collectibles + Digital Photos includes all of the above and a VIP Photo Pass, and starts at $33.99. Gift tickets start at $39.99.
  • Annual Passes include unlimited trips between Sunday and Friday, as well as perks such as birthday party discounts, 10% gift shop discounts, 20% cafe discounts, and no need to make reservations. Prices start at $57.99.
    • Anytime Annual Passes include all of the above as well as 40% family/friend discounts, anytime admission, Saturday admission, and exemptions from blackout dates. Prices start at $115.99.
  • Military passes start at $20.29 for both adults and children.

Groups[]

  • Schools:
    • School prices are $14 per child and adult. There is one free adult per every five children, and groups need to have ten or more children to qualify for group pricing. Availability is Monday-Friday, and pre-paid reservations are required two weeks in advance.
    • Schools designated as Title 1 receive a special rate of $10 per child and adult. This rate is only available on Mondays and Tuesdays.
  • Other Groups: Groups other than schools have the same rules as school groups. Prices are $15 per child and adult.

  • This is the first LEGOLAND Discovery Center to open in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States, as well as the first in the state of Virginia.
  • This was the first LEGOLAND Discovery Center to be constructed under the new, renovated banner of LEGOLAND Discovery Centers.
  • Adults must be accompanied by a child unless attending special adult night events.
