LEGO Life is a social media app that was launched in 2017. It replaced the LEGO Club Magazine as well as the LEGO.com Message Boards. The app allows for people to share photos of LEGO creations and discuss LEGO with other fans. All posts go through moderation before being visible to others. A magazine was launched alongside the app which shares the LEGO Life name.
Features[]
Groups are where people join groups and showcase their builds. The groups are sorted out by themes. Such as Ninjago and Creator. There are also some groups for advanced builders who are possibly fans of the Architecture theme. There are no Duplo groups.
Activities are a variety of Building challenges kids can participate in. They are sorted by themes. There are also Sticker challenges, polls, and Quizzes. Users cannot Fail the challenge. (unless they're post has an inappropriate title.)
Competitions are worldwide competitions where Lego life users can compete in an Online building contest to win a Lego Retail store VIP Pass. Competitions are never sorted out by theme. They are always themed after holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving.
Digital instructions is a digital instruction booklet for any set with a QR code on the construction booklet. Users can scan a LEGO Life QR code on the booklet. To get the instructions on the lego life app. Like groups. These do not appeal to DUPLO sets.
Minifigure Creator is an avatar-creating feature in LEGO Life. Users can create their own minifigures by their heads, torso, legs, and accessories. Users cannot change the arm and hand peices of the minifigure they create for their profile.
On August 15th of 2024 the Lego Life app was officially retired and replaced by Lego. Its successor (Lego Play) has a similar layout but is aimed towards a younger audience, because of this most of the users of the Lego Life app did not make the switch between apps.
Notes[]
- Lego life has their own emoticons and gifs, and previously did not allow regular text on user created posts. Thanks to a recent update, this is no longer true, and users can comment with their own words.
- Photography, MOCs, renders, and art make up the mainstream line of user posts.
- LEGO Rebuild the world and Planet Crew both have their own groups.
- Lego Club Show's past Mascot, Max is recycled and can be friended on LEGO Life, though Flappy was abandoned. Many LEGO characters from various products and shows can also be friended.
- The LEGO Life wiki can be found here.
