LEGO Marvel's Avengers is the second installment in the LEGO Marvel Video Game series which was released on January 26, 2016. It is based off of the films Marvel's The Avengers, Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron, Marvel's Captain America: The First Avenger, Marvel's Iron Man 3, Marvel's Thor: The Dark World and Marvel's Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Interactive Entertainment, "LEGO® Marvel’s Avengers" is now available for the PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment systems, PlayStation®Vita handheld entertainment system, Xbox One®, Xbox 360®, the Wii U™ system from Nintendo, the Nintendo 3DS™ family of systems and Windows PC.
"LEGO® Marvel’s Avengers" is the first videogame to feature storylines from the critically-acclaimed film "Marvel’s The Avengers" and its hit sequel "Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron," as well as playable content based on additional Marvel Studios blockbusters, including "Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger," "Marvel’s Iron Man 3," "Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World," and "Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier."
In 'LEGO® Marvel’s Avengers,' gamers can play and unlock more than 200 characters, with over 100 new characters that have not appeared in a LEGO videogame before. For the first time, players can execute incredible Avengers Team-Up Moves resulting in incredible combos when using core Avengers, including Black Widow, Captain America, Hawkeye, Hulk, Thor and Iron Man.
"LEGO® Marvel’s Avengers," also features a unique take on open world gameplay, with eight different environments to explore within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including the expansive streets of Marvel’s New York, as well as Asgard, Barton’s Farm, Malibu, the S.H.I.E.L.D. Base Exterior, Sokovia, South Africa, and Washington, D.C. Players can freely roam around these open world locations using brand new gameplay mechanics, allowing Hulk to super jump off skyscrapers, Quicksilver to speed run over water, or even play as giant characters, like the menacing Fing Fang Foom, who can grow to the size of tall buildings. Open World Manhattan will also be available on handheld consoles for the first time so fans can enjoy the sprawling concrete jungle on the go, anytime, anywhere.

Notes
- Unlike other LEGO Superhero games, the main story is based off of movies rather than being an original story.
- This is the second LEGO video game to have a season pass. The first was LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham.
- First LEGO game to feature Avenger initiate moves where team up and solve puzzles with your co-Avengers.
- First LEGO game to feature combo moves where you start a combo with your teammates to perform crazy combo moves to defeat your enemies
- Open world New York (revamped) with crimes to stop around the corner.
- First LEGO Marvel game to feature a suit-up screen for Iron Man.
- Every different Iron Man suit "brings something different" to the game.
- The player can visit Manhattan, Sokovia, Malibu, Barton Farm, Asgard, Washington D.C. and South Africa for free roam.
- Stan Lee will again be a citizen the player must save.
- To get Red Bricks, the player would have to find the Collector. He will then give you a quest for which you will get a Red Brick. To unlock those Red Bricks the player has to go to the Collector's room in Knowhere.
- In Free Play, each time the player goes to the Manhattan hub the characters are randomly selected from those you have unlocked.
- The 100% studs collected achievement, in each level, is called "True Avenger"
- Like in LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, the player can collect character tokens in levels and unlock them from tasks given in the hubs.
- This is the second handheld LEGO video game to feature an open world. The first was LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins.
- The handheld version will have 5 hubs and including 2 alternative versions of Manhattan
- The handheld version will have a exclusive side mission story [1]
- The handheld version will have 15 exclusive hub challenges
- In the handheld version you can spawn Vehicles on any road via vehicle menu
- The handheld version will have over 100 Free Play Object in the game.
- Avengers Assemble! You can buy the deluxe edition which includes the Season Pass through the playstation store. With this season pass come more than 40 new characters and 5 exciting new levels, based on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and classic comicbook versions of Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel and the Masters of Evil. Besides this, the ones who have the season pass will receive exclusive access to The Avengers Explorer Character pack.
- You can now collect the Captain America trading cards in the hub worlds and presumably also the levels.
- In previous handheld LEGO games we've had 1 character+ 1 AI buddy during levels, LEGOMarvelGame for Handheld has up to 4 characters on screen in story levels![2]
- In the Handheld version there is a exclusive night time Manhattan
- In every level there will be 3 character tokens and a red brick.
