Like the Koopa Troopa, Larry is a blocky, bipedal turtle with a large shell on his back. His head is green and he has a blue mohawk for a headpiece.

He was the director of the Koopa Troop: Bowser’s most beloved minions. Larry was based on an unspecified Super Mario Bros. 3 designer.[1] He did not yet have a name in Japanese, so for the English localisation Larry’s name was given by Nintendo product analyst Dayvv Brooks, who claims that he called him such because ‘he just looked like a Larry.’[2]
