Dr. Curt Connors was a Floridian scientist who lost his right-arm while serving for the US military. Curt was a family-man who was obsessed with getting back his lost limb resulting in him beginning to study how to splice human DNA with that of a reptile as some reptiles could regenerate their limbs.
Eventually Curt learned how to properly splice the genetics but in addition to regrowing his arm, the results transformed Curt into a giant lizard/human hybrid. Taking on the moniker of "The Lizard", Curt lost control and became a super-villain who used his powers and ability to communicate with reptiles to try and turn other humans into creatures like him. Lizard became an enemy of Spiderman who eventually cured the doctor with Cut becoming a recurring ally to him despite sometimes loosing control and falling back into villainy.
The Lizard is a big-fig such as Colossus and Juggernaut. He is based somewhat on his appearance in the 1990s Spider-Man TV series. He wears a white lab coat over purple pants and a black shirt. In addition, his green scales, long tail, and head are similar to the Velociraptors from the Dino and Jurassic World themes.
- In The Amazing Spider-Man series, The Lizard was portrayed by Rhys Ifans, who also portrayed Xenophilius Lovegood in the Harry Potter series.
- In The Spectacular Spider-Man and Ultimate Spider-Man, he is voiced by Dee Bradley Baler who also voiced Captain Rex, Commander Cody and all the Clone Troopers in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Clock King, Etrigan, Ace the Bathound and Felix Faust in Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Sandman and Carnage in Ultimate Spider-Man, Mister Fantastic and Doctor Octopus in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, Brainiac in LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham and LEGO Dimensions and Spidermonkey, Swampfire, Chromastone, Humongosaur, Jetray, and Big Chill in Ben 10.
