The leader of Lake-town was the first to greet the Dwarves kindly when they arrived in Lake-town but he is a greedy ruler however, and is only helping the Dwarves to get his hands on dragon gold


Background

The Master of Lake-town was well known as a businessman, which is how he came to his position. He agreed to help Thorin and Company in their efforts to reach the Lonely Mountain mainly because of the mood of the people of Lake-town, not out of any genuine feeling for the Dwarves.
