Midi-scale sets are sets that are between miniature and minifigure scale. As such, the sets do not include Minifigures, but have considerably more details than miniature models.
Thus far, the Midi-scale theme appears to be dedicated to Star Wars.

The first set, 7778 Midi-scale Millennium Falcon, was released in 2009 as part of the Star Wars theme. The next year, the 8099 Midi-Scale Imperial Star Destroyer was released.
