Model Team

Model Team was a theme introduced in 1986. It included realistic large scale models of vehicles with extra detail, such as steering. The theme's logo had changed three times (1990, 1992 and 1999). The set numbers start with a 55XX prefix for regular sets. One promotional set, 2556, was released in 1997 featuring Shell and Ferrari. Model Team was discontinued after 1999. In 2004, the Model Team set 5541 was re-released as 10151 in the Legends theme.

An item to note: most Model Team vehicles carry a license plate starting with "MC" or "MT" followed by the set number. Sets released in 1986 featured license plates starting with "MC" while subsequent ones started with "MT", which stands for "Model Team".

It is believed that exclusive sculpture sets introduced since 2000 and the vehicle models in the Creator theme (previously known as Designer Set) introduced since 2003 had replaced Model Team.
