Momo the Flying Lemur is an animal who appears in the Avatar: The Last Airbender theme. He is Aang's pet throughout the series, and was introduced in the third episode of Book I: Water.

Description[]

Momo is made of a single part. He has legs and arms moulded into his body, and a brown face with very large ears attached to it.

Background[]

Momo was a Flying Lemur who lived in the Southern Air Temple, seemingly one of the few survivors after the Fire Nation massacred the Air Nomads.

Momo’s life would drastically change once a group of three kids, Sokka, Katara, and Aang, the last of which was the last Airbender, and the Avatar decided to come to the temple. Sokka and Aang both went after Momo for their own reasons, Sokka wanting to eat him, and Aang wanting to adopt him.

Momo’s chase would cause him to hide in a small structure, where the following Sokka and Aang would find Aang’s deceased teacher Gyatzo, alongside the bodies of several Firebenders. Once Sokka, Katara and Aang left the temple, Momo came with them as Aang’s pet.

Momo would join the three (and later additions to the group such as Toph and Zuko) on a quest to defeat Fire Lord Ozai, and end the Hundred Year War. He made friends with Aang’s flying bison, Appa. Once Aang removed Ozai’s firebending abilities, ending the war, Momo stayed with Aang as a loyal friend.

Momo
Momo, Aang's companion, is a small creature called a flying-lemur, discovered at the ruins of the Southern Air Temple. He can fly on bat-like wings but otherwise behaves pretty much like a monkey. With his big round eyes and long ears, he has great senses of hearing and smell, but is also a bit mischievous.
