Nanofigures are the smallest type of figures offered in LEGO products. The first nanofigures were included in 76042 The S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier in 2015 and 21309 NASA Apollo Saturn V in 2017. They are one stud and shorter than the previous Microfigures that had been discontinued in 2014, alongside the Games theme a year earlier.

The most consistent use of nanofigures is as statues in the Architecture theme.

History

The earliest version of a micro or nanofigure in LEGO history was the HO scale figure released in 1271 Traffic Police in 1956. The microfigure started appearing as pieces in lego board games in 2009. A nanofigure was required in 2015 for larger collector sets where ones in the regular Minifigure scale would have not been possible.
