Nindroid Drones are minifigures from the Ninjago theme released in 2014.
Description
The Nindroid Drone has a black kimono with purple accents across the middle, and shows its mechanical origins with a long metal tube curving from the bottom left to the top right of the torso and small, silver mechanical details around the kimono. The head has black printing and two red eyes as well as a ferocious expression, and a vertically-split mechanical face showing a purple ring and metal plating around the left eye as the black 'coating' was removed for detail.
Background
The Nindroid Drone did not appear in Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu. However, it did make an appearance in LEGO Ninjago: Nindroids and LEGO Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin.
The Nindroid Drone, like the Nindroid Warrior, is a mechanical soldier modeled after Zane. They have been created by the Digital Overlord to be stronger, faster, and more agile than Zane and to lack emotion to be more efficient drones, hence their name. They normally wield two silver sais in the sets that they appear in.
Notes
- The Nindroid Drone and the Nindroid Warrior share the same LEGO.com description because they are in fact the same character, but different outfits and designs.
- The Mindroid minifigure is basically the Nindroid Drone with the short legs replacing the regular legs.
- The Nindroid Drone is the only Nindroid without a mask however in 70727 X-1 Ninja Charger the Drone has a mask.
