"Beware the wrath of the lord of the seas – and no splashing in the pool!"
―Ocean King

The Ocean King is a Collectable Minifigure released in 2012 as one of the sixteen minifigures from 8831 Minifigures Series 7.

Description[]

He reuses the tail piece which debuted on Tamara and Syrena from the Pirates of the Caribbean theme, but with a different print. He has a unique golden crown that simulates sea shells and a serious expression. His wavy white beard is the same as Sensei Wu's from Ninjago. He has muscular torso printing and a sand green merman tail.

“Beware the wrath of the lord of the seas – and no splashing in the pool!”

Ruler of a vast underwater kingdom, the Ocean King is the master of all the world’s seas. His enchanted trident gives him absolute control of the waves and tides, and woe to any sailor who dares to anger him! Fortunately, he’s easily appeased by rare treats from the surface world, and a cookie or pizza slice (no anchovies, please!) left in just the right tide pool will usually ensure a smooth and tranquil ocean voyage.

Just make sure it’s the proper kind of gift. The Ocean King doesn’t take kindly to people who drop litter into his deep blue domain, and he’s been known to summon raging storms and whirlpools if he’s having a bad day, or even just a mild headache. It might sound like an overreaction, but you try wearing a crown made of pointy gold shells all the time and see how calm you feel!

Notes[]

  • He has the same beard piece as Sensei Wu.
  • He has a new hat/hair combo piece.
  • He is also known as Neptune in the May–June LEGO Club Magazine despite obvious differences to Neptune in classical mythology. Most notably, the Ocean King has a tail but Neptune had legs. He is in fact more similar to Triton or Disney's King Triton from The Little Mermaid.
  • In Danger Waters, he is referred to as Neptuno.
  • He has the same tail piece as Tamara and Syrena.
