Papergirl is the one hundred and seventy-fifth episode of Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, and the eleventh episode of season fourteen.
Plot[]
As the paperkids of Ninjago City are preparing to set out on their delivery routes, Nelson and the others are stunned to learn that Antonia is leaving the group. She informs them that she is taking a job at the Dairy Dragon ice cream shop. When Nelson questions her decision, Antonia expresses her frustration with the constant danger in Ninjago City, a sentiment reinforced by an attacking for Maaray Guards. As he sees how determined she is, Nelson angrily rushes off, but is somewhat appeased by her offer to hook him up with his favorite flavor of ice cream.
As the two are passing the Explorer's Club, Kalmaar bursts out with the Storm Amulet, only for him and his guards to be attacked by Master Wu, Kai, Cole, and Ray. The scuffle sees the amulet end up in Antonia's possession, and Kai and Wu urge her and Nelson to flee to keep it out of Kalmaar's hands. Kalmaar quickly pursues them, and Nelson takes the lead as they speed across Ninjago City in an effort to escape him. Kalmaar then hijacks a truck, only to be attacked by Kai.
Nelson and Antonia manage to cross a rising bridge, only for Kai and Kalmaar to end up in the canal while attempting to follow them. Kalmaar soon emerges and claims the amulet, and questions who Antonia is; upon learning she is a papergirl, he is amused and notes that she has come closer to thwarting him than any of the enemies he has faced previously. Once he departs, Antonia dives into the canal to rescue Kai, and Nelson applies CPR to the unconscious fire Ninja. Wu and his friends thank an apologetic Antonia for her brave efforts, with Kai commenting he is thankful for her presence. Later, Antonia confesses to Nelson that she has changed her mind about leaving, and a happy Nelson rides off after promising to see her tomorrow.
Notes[]
This is the only Season 14/Seabound episode in which Nya does not appear.
The episode makes multiple references to previous seasons:
Unagami, in his child form, is among the recipients of Antonia and Nelson's newspapers, right after Antonia alludes to the events of Game Over.
The Dairy Dragon's ice cream flavors include Bananakhan, a play on Nadakhan.
Kalmaar questions whether Antonia is one of a number of beings, including Oni, Serpentine, and Vermillion.
