Its yellow, sloped face and the rest of its cubic body is mostly in the same shape as the Spiny, minus the spikes, and its red shell shares the same white wings as the Koopa Paratroopa. Its action tile is likewise on its shell and it takes two stomps to defeat, thereby generating two coins.
Para-Beetles were airborne creatures and one of the few foes that the Mario Brothers could not defeat simply by stomping. They first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 3 in 1988 and leaping on them would simply take the Mario Brothers for a ride. To vanquish them, they either had to apply the Raccoon power-up’s tail attacks, stomp on them shortly after taking a Super Star, or apply a hammer.
