Paz Vizsla is a Star Wars Minifigure released in 2021.

Background[]

During the era of the New Republic, Paz Vizsla was a member of the Tribe, residing in a Mandalorian covert on the planet Nevarro. Due to the Galactic Empire's Great Purge against the Mandalorians, the Tribe's members were forced to remain hidden in their enclave, with Vizsla guarding the armory within. In around 9 ABY, Vizsla witnessed the Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin enter the covert with a camtono of beskar. Vizsla and several other Mandalorians watched as Djarin gave the beskar to the Tribe's armorer, intending to have armor forged from it. Vizsla inspected the beskar, which had been taken by the Empire during the Great Purge and given to Djarin by an Imperial remnant in return for the delivery of the infant Grogu. Accusing Djarin of cowardice, Vizsla confronted him, leading to an altercation between the two Mandalorians. As Djarin and Vizsla two held their vibroblades at each other, the Armorer broke up the fight, reminding them of the Way of the Mandalore. Vizsla stepped aside, allowing the Armorer to forge armor for Djarin.

Shortly afterward, Djarin was confronted by a number of Bounty Hunters' Guild members led by Greef Karga after he rescued Grogu from the Imperial remnant. Karga intended to kill Djarin if he did not hand over Grogu, but the members of the Tribe arrived to protect the bounty hunter, descending from above with their jetpacks. Vizsla landed near Djarin, shooting down a number of bounty hunters with his blaster cannon. Turning to Djarin, Vizsla told him to escape while the Tribe held off the bounty hunters. Djarin stated that the enclave would need to be moved due to the Tribe's interference, which Vizsla acknowledged, citing the Way of the Mandalore. Vizsla provided cover as Djarin escaped to his starship, the Razor Crest, leaving Nevarro. As the Razor Crest departed, Vizsla flew alongside the vessel with his jetpack and saluted Djarin before turning back towards the ground.

As a result of the rescue, the Bounty Hunters' Guild lost control of Nevarro, and the Imperial remnant cracked down on the Tribe for their part in the incident. The covert was attacked by forces of the remnant, and a number of Mandalorians were killed. The Armorer managed to survive the attack, believing that some Mandalorians had managed to escape the planet. Paz proved to be among these, and later reunited with the Armorer.

when Din Djarin again found the pair, he was in possession of the Darksaber. This weapon had been created by an ancestor of Paz’s, and had been owned by members of his clan until its loss by Pre Vizsla. Seeing Don’s struggle to wield the blade, Paz challenged him for possession of it. Though he gained the upper hand and almost killed Din, he was ultimately overcome. At this point, Din revealed that he had violated the Creed by removing his helmet, and both Paz and the Armorer declared him an apostate.

Spoiler warning: Plot or ending details follow.

The Tribe eventually established a new covert, which Din visited just in time to help save Paz’s son from a native predator. Paz was later present when Din returned from Mandalore with Bo-Katan Kryze, both of them having submerged in the living waters of Mandalore. They were thus held to be redeemed and welcomed into the Tribe. The pair would later help rescue Paz’s son once again, this time from a massive flying creature.

When Nevarro came under threat by a force of pirates, Paz spoke to the Tribe after Din appealed to them for help. Despite having fought Greef Karga before, he voiced support for aiding him out of gratitude to Din and Bo for his son’s rescue. Paz joined in the liberation of Nevarro, and was afterwards greeted as a hero by the inhabitants. At this point, the Armorer decreed that the time had come to reunite the scattered Mandalorian people and retake their home planet.

Din and Bo soon returned with Bo’s reassembled followers and their fleet. Paz volunteered to join a party that would investigate the surface. Unfortunately, they discovered that Moff Gideon and his second generation Dark Troopers had established their base on the planet. Paz fought off many of the troopers to allow his comrades to escape Gideon’s trap. Exhausted and bereft of his primary weapon, he was then killed by a trio of Praetorian Guards Gideon had requisitioned from another Imperial warlord.
