Background[]

Penny is the neighbor of comicbook and sci-fi geeks Leonard Hofstadter and Sheldon Cooper, and she is a good friend with them despite not understanding their interests and vice versa. At first, she was oblivious to Leonard's feelings for her, but they eventually become engaged.
