Plot[]

Wu, plummeting from the Crystal King Temple, manages to latch on to a Crystal Beast, and then jumps off and into a canal. Antonia and Lil' Nelson spot him and discover that it is the same canal they saved Kai from previously, and repeat their act of rescuing and resuscitating a drowning hero. Elsewhere, the Mechanic and a squad of Vengestone Guards stumble across half the wrecked Destiny's Bounty and a trapped Nya. Jay arrives in time to back her up, and Nya's long absent powers show signs of returning and give them the edge needed to make their escape.

At the paperkids' warehouse, the young newspaper crew is about to set out on their routes despite the ongoing crisis when Antonia and Nelson arrive with Wu. After he revives, they inform him of the Bounty crashing and the uncertain fates of the Ninja. When Nelson proposes that they begin planning a counterattack using the warehouse as a base, Wu rejects the idea, feeling that he cannot endanger the youngsters and that they must escape from the Overlord. Jay, also contemplating their desperate situation, realizes that Nya's returning powers may be the key to summoning much-needed help: namely, Benthomaar and the Merlopians.

Wu is coordinating the paperkids' escape from Ninjago City when they overhear a couple being attacking by Vengestone Guards. Wu engages the creatures and is stunned when the paperkids join in using various materials. Inspired by their bravery, Wu decides that they will indeed attempt to continue the battle with the Overlord. Getting on the paperkids' radio, he makes a general call to anyone who might be listening to rally to the cause, proclaiming them honorary Ninja and reiterating his old motto that "Ninja never quit!"
