Rex,[1] also known as Jimmy Brave[2] and Rip Speed,[3] is an Extreme Team minifigure introduced in 1998.
Description[]
Rex has a black torso, gloves, legs, and Mini Visor 2; bright yellow hip; and bright blue Mini Crash Helmet. His Mini Crash Helmet is printed with a red and white flame pattern. His torso is printed with yellow jacket lines and a small Extreme Team logo on the front, and a large Extreme Team logo on the back. He has a smiling face with small white pupils and wavy white hair.
In 6567, he wears a bright yellow Life Jacket and a plain Mini Crash Helmet without printing. In 6462, he has a grey Oxygenbottle With Tube, an unprinted Mini Crash Helmet, and a transparent blue Divers Mask.
Background[]
Rex competed in a Drag Race Rally, with his dragster racing at 250 mph. He won the race, but then ran off the track and crashed into the sand.[1] He enjoys climbing mountains and sliding down on the zip line cable.[4] When climbing Mt. McKinley, Rex and Dex take the west path, with Rex driving over a rickety bridge crossing the great gorge. Upon reaching the summit, they are caught in a blizzard and need to be rescued by the LEGO Maniac, who creates a rescue line for them to slide down to the Aerial Recovery.[5]
Rip Speed broke the all-time track record in the Fireball.[3]
In Time Cruisers, the Extreme Team vehicles were modified by Dr. Cyber, who sent them to find Tim Timebuster in the Wild West. Rex spots Maddox's arrival at base, only to witness him crash into a mountain. He realizes that Maddox's helicopter will explode in a few seconds.
In Tough Test!, Jimmy Brave assists Daredevil Tom in the getaway after stealing a gold bar from LEGO City's gold reserve. They are pulled over by Highway Patrolman Bill, who reveals that it was merely a test for the gold reserve's security system. In Race in the Sky, Jimmy and Tom copilot the reconfigured Land Jet 7 to help Bill catch the Brickster.
Notes[]
- Along with other members of Extreme Team, Rex seems to be the namesake of a World Racers X-Treme Daredevils character, REX-treme.
- Rex is the only Extreme Team minifigure to appear in the Res-Q sets, despite Extreme Team and Res-Q being closely linked in storyline.
