The Storm Amulet is the one hundred and seventy-fourth episode of Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, and the tenth episode of season fourteen.
Plot[]
At the Monastery of Spinjitzu, Kai and Ray are in the midst of a training session at Master Wu's request, though Ray objects to being targeted with a blast of his son's elemental power. Cole bursts in and informs the group that Nya's group is at the Island of the Keepers, and have discovered that the Storm Amulet has been stolen. It proves to have been stolen by Clutch Powers, who has delivered the artifact to the Explorer's Club along with "detailed illustrations" of his exploits on the island, all intended to help him win his long-coveted Explorer of the Year Award. Back at the island, the crew of the Hydro Bounty are struggling to find a way to return to Ninjago Island, when Benthomaar reminds them of the legend of Nyad, the first Master of Water who was capable of communicating with whales.
While Nya begins experimenting with this untested ability, Wu and the others-joined by Misako-go to the Explorer's Club, where Cecil Putnam refuses them entry based on Misako's recent disappearance. When attempts to reason with him fail, Misako invokes the Trial by Sphinx, a ceremony by which non-members may be admitted. They then face the sphinx statue, which poses the riddle "Give me food and I will live, give me water and I will die." After Wu and Kai propose two wrong answers, Kai is able to guess correctly with their final chance: fire.
Just after the group bursts in on Clutch's pack of lies and confronts him, King Kalmaar and his Maaray Guards break in through the outer wall demanding that they hand over the Storm Amulet. Battle then ensues between Wu's group, the other club members, and Kalmaar's forces. Wu warns Kalmaar that their friends will soon return to help deal with him, prompting Kalmaar to reveal that he has stranded them. Back at the Keepers' island, Nya becomes frustrated and blames herself for leading Kalmaar to the Storm Amulet, but is cheered along with her friends when her attempts to summon whales to their aid are at last rewarded.
