Rudo Villano, also known as Max Villano in the United Kingdom, is a villain from the Adventurers Jungle theme introduced in 1999.

Description[]

Rudo Villano wears a black folded campaign hat and has messy, black hair sticking out from under it. His eyes are slanted in an angry expression and a red scar is slashed under his right one. His face is given stubble detailing. Villano wears a dark grey button-up shirt which exposes skin near the top, also revealing chest hair. A cartridge belt is printed above his waist and two revolvers are pushed in it. He has earth orange pants and, in some appearances, also has a matching backpack.

In Tales on the LEGO Express: The Heist, Rudo Villano wears a black neck scarf, covering the lower half of his face.

His appearance in Soccer Mania is slightly changed. Rather than wearing a fedora, he has a dark grey cap similar to Gabarro and Mike. His torso is also modified; his shirt is now fully unbuttoned, showing a green-and-black striped undershirt, and his two revolvers are absent.

Background[]

Rudo Villano is a member of Señor Palomar's gang who accompanied him into the Amazon Jungle. As explained in LEGO Mania Magazine, Rudo rarely smiles because of the scar on his face, and he also seems to be rather sensitive about it. He also one of the best jungle guides around and, although he is rather tough, he is also superstitious and is quick to believe in Achu's magic.

In The Adventures of the LEGO Maniac: Johnny Thunder's Jungle Adventure, Rudo Villano and Señor Palomar arrive in the jungle by the Pontoon Plane, landing in a river. They immediately notice alligators and snakes nearby, which Villano attributes to Achu, but Palomar dismisses this as superstition and urges Villano to hop into Gabarro's boat.[1] The pair later arrive at the Amazon Ancient Ruins and Palomar tells Villano to collect the ruby before them, but it triggers a trap, sending Palomar into a pit.[2] The storyline is continued in Zeppelin Adventure, in which Rudo Villano rides a Creepy Crawler and lures Dr. Lightning into a trap, although they are driven away by Johnny Thunder and Harry Kane's Jungle Cruiser.[3]

In Search for the Sun Disc!, Rudo Villano drives Señor Palomar to the Sun Disc in a motorcar,[4] with Palomar pointing to the Expedition Balloon and commanding Villano to follow it.[5] They arrive at the Sun Disc's location almost simultaneously with Thunder, but then Achu send out a giant spider[6] and the motorcar loses a wheel. Thunder notices the giant spider endangering the antagonists, and then he insists to Dr. Kilroy that they must rescue them. Dr. Kilroy then tells Palomar and Villano to grab onto an anchor.[7] Villano grabs onto Palomar's leg as the latter manages to grab the anchor before the spider could get them, but he slips and falls onto the ancient ruins.[8] They are last seen screaming as they run away from the spider.[9]

In The Lost Temple - An Interactive Puzzle Book, Rudo Villano and Gabarro are Señor Palomar's henchmen who capture the heroic adventurers in the temple. They are caught in a trap that drops a large cobweb onto them when Palomar attempts to grab the Sun Disc. In the end, Villano and Palomar run away into the misty jungle.

He also appears in the comic included in the instructions for 5976 River Expedition. Villano and Palomar rob Achu's temple of the Sun Disc and a jewel. They are confronted by Johnny Thunder, Dr. Kilroy, and Gabarro, who defeat them and return the treasures to Achu.

LEGO Island[]

In the Game Boy Color game 5730 LEGO Island 2: The Brickster's Revenge, Rudo Villano can be found in the desert of Adventurers' Island. He comments that the island's trade comes to a stop when the Brickster is loose, and he asks Pepper Roni for help finding Señor Palomar. Villano is also depicted on one of the game's collectable trading cards.

Trains[]

Villano appears alongside Palomar and Alexia Sinister in Tales on the LEGO Express: The Heist, an online interactive Trains comic. He and Alexia are members of Palomar's gang who are robbing a train to steal the Gale's Eye diamond discovered by Johnny Thunder. Villano is assigned to guard the radio but, while he is distracted, the player pushes him out of the window. He latches onto a mail bag loop and is not seen again.

Soccer Mania[]

Rudo Villano appears in Soccer Mania as a minor villain in the story mode. He first appears as an outfielder on the Adventurers Villains team on Adventure Island, where he plays against the player's team at the Aztec Village. He is later recruited into the Brickster's Intergalactic team for the final soccer match at the end of the game, where he is the only member who was not originally a goalkeeper. Since he can be added to the player's team after being beaten, this marks Rudo's only appearance as a playable character. His stats (out of a maximum of 272) are 160 speed, 160 shooting, 160 passing, 160 tackling, and 48 goalkeeping on the Adventurers Villains team, and 272 speed, 272 shooting, 272 passing, 272 tackling, and 48 goalkeeping on the Intergalactic team, making him a well-rounded player in all fields except for goalkeeping.[10]

RUDO VILLANO
As his name suggests, Rudo is one rude villain. This scowling man in black rarely smiles because of the nasty scar he has. "One word about my scar Señor, and I will feed you to the crocodiles." Rudo is one of the best jungle guides around. Although Rudo is one tough hombre, he is superstitious.
