Master Wu is seen walking with Misako in Ninjago City Park when Acronix and Krux appear with a force of Vermillion and Misako vanishes into thin air; the moment proves to be Wu having a nightmare. Reassured by the presence of Misako upon his awakening, Wu confesses that his battle with Acronix has resulted in the power of one of the Time Blades causing him to age at an accelerated rate, and begs her not to speak of it to the ninja. When Lloyd enters, Wu-whether due to actual injuries or feigning a weaker condition-laments not having "you" with him when facing Acronix, leaving Lloyd feeling guilty and deciding that he needs to step up in Wu's place. The other Ninja are likewise struggling: Cole with his new powers, Jay with their ignorance of the Time Twins' plan, Kai with Krux's claims about his parents' treachery, and Nya and P.I.X.A.L. with trying to get Zane back in working order.
Meanwhile, the Vermillion Commanders launch a massive raid against Ninjago City to secure metal for the Hands of Time, with victims Ronin and Dareth rushing to the Temple of Airjitzu to warn the Ninja. Lloyd refuses to leave Wu, but his friends quickly depart with Dareth and Ronin and refuse to heed his order to remain behind. Nya soon joins the battle as well after the Vermillion attack the Samurai X Cave and apparently make off with her Samurai X armor, bringing along a still malfunctioning Zane. Fortunately, a conversation with Wu helps Lloyd realize that Wu wished the whole team had been with him against Acronix, not just his nephew, and he soon joins his comrades in a battle at a Ninjago power station. They succeed in defeating the Vermillion only to learn that others are attacking Mega Monster Amusement Park, and two of the ninja have unpleasant realizations: Zane that P.I.X.A.L. is no longer responding to him, and Jay that the Vermillion's agenda makes his parents' junkyard a prime target for their goals.
