- "It's time for you to take your place by my side."
"That's not going to happen."
- ―Wenwu and Shang-Chi, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
From a young age, Xu Shang-Chi was raised to become a deadly assassin by his father, Wenwu, leader of the Ten Rings organization. However, he was so overcome with guilt from his first mission that he abandoned the Ten Rings, hiding out in San Francisco under the name "Shaun". Years later, he and his sister Xialing were tracked down by their father's agents. They were ultimately forced to return to the headquarters of the Ten Rings, where Wenwu sought their help in reviving their deceased mother. After it became clear that Wenwu's attempt to do so would unleash an ancient evil back into the world, Shang-Chi and Xialing turned against him, culminating in a final battle between Shang-Chi and his father.
Throughout his journey, Shang-Chi was accompanied by Katy, a close friend of his who met him in San Francisco and worked as as chauffeur alongside him. She later would train in archery so she could fight by his side.
The Shang-Chi minifigure consists of four pieces. It has black tousled hair swept left and a Light Nougat-colored two-sided face. One expression has a frown, while the other face is angry. The figure's torso is a new design, consisting of a red body with ornate black ribbing and dark red trim. The leg piece is plain black, with no decoration.
Shang-Chi also comes with a Bō staff as a weapon for use in martial combat.
