Spinning Spider is a "teacups"-style ride at LEGOLAND Windsor, named for the large brick-built spider suspended on a "web" above it. Present in the park from its opening day in 1996, the ride was originally part of the Pirates/Castle-themed Wild Woods area, and sported Forest People and Wolf People shields on the ride vehicles.
With the opening of Land of the Vikings adjacent to the Wild Woods in 2007, the Spinning Spider was reassigned to the new area, and later received a replacement spider model in 2009, with the original spider being placed on a nearby slope. During the park's 2012 season, the original Castle faction shields were replaced with a new design featuring the minifig-scale LEGO spider piece, and not long afterwards, for the 2013 season, the main spider model received new legs, switching from a grey "hairy" look to a red and yellow look more in line with the creature's body.
Following the closure of Viking River Splash during the 2023 season, the Spinning Spider was left as the only remaining active ride in Land of the Vikings. As a result, the area was dropped, and the Spinning Spider was relabelled as part of Pirate Shores, the modern rethemed incarnation of the Wild Woods to which the ride had originally belonged.

Here guests can sit back and enjoy the ride or make the "log" spin even faster and get really dizzy. Make sure you also watch out for the giant LEGO spider hovering above! Anything Else I Need To Know?
