Having entered Prime Empire, the Ninja-minus Zane and the still missing Jay-find themselves in a virtual city populated by various player and non-player characters. While they're still processing things, they are attacked by a patrol of Red Visors, and swiftly discover that they've lost access to both their elemental powers and Spinjitzu. However, they are unexpectedly saved by the arrival of members of the League of Jay: players whose avatars are all designed to resemble various versions of Jay. The Jays help the Ninja escape their assailants, while also pointing them in the direction of an ally named Scott.
In the process of this, Kai discovers that they Ninja have multiple lives, and cockily exposes himself to danger. However, Scott-after welcoming the Ninja into his concealed garage-informs him that players get only four lives each, and that-like Scott himself-Kai now only has one remaining. Scott cites this as a reason for his refusal to enter the Speedway Five Billion, before leading the Ninja through a secret tunnel to the hideout of the League of Jay. There, they are at last reunited with Jay, who has adopted an over-the-top rockstar avatar.
