New Design in an Old Set?
Ok, so I know this is gonna sound weird, but a few years ago I got the early Star Destroyer (from '08 I think, with Grand Moff Tarkin). However, even though the box, instructions and every other source I've seen depicted the R2-Q5 included with this Destroyer as having the "classic" style of printing on the dome, the one I got had the 2010 redesigned type of dome-print. Back then, I thought I'd just gotten a defective piece, but now that all astromech figures are sporting that EXACT same kind of printing, I'm wondering how an astro-droid could be sporting it before it was even designed?
So what happened: Was this a bizarre, coincidental misprint? Or did I receive a bizarre kind of prototype? Anybody care to give a possible explanation?

Thanks, now you've offended me. Now let's be serious. I assure you, this is not a hoax; I'm not that bored. I would show you a picture of the bizarre anomaly I have found, but it would do little to back up my assertion, as, aside from some slight raggedness on the left edges of the "squares" printed on the dome's front, the "defective" R2-Q5 is, in all other respects, identical to the redesigned models that were made two years later. In case you didn't notice, that's what I'm trying to figure out.
And for the record, although I have not been here long enough to be taken seriously, please note that I am a sysop on the Invader Zim Wiki. Not that it makes any difference, of course, but I think that it's safe to assume that nobody in their right mind would vote for somebody who "makes things up."
If you still harbour the uninformed assumption that I am "making this up", you are perfectly welcome to take this question from a hypothetical standpoint. Either way, I'd like a real answer. --User: Dr. Anonymous1 23:59, June 28, 2012 (UTC)
The ISD set is a 2006-issue set, but if you got it in 2008, that's the year the new R2-Q5 dome was made. It's possible that if you DID get the set in 2008, then a newer R2-Q5 dome got mixed in with the parts for the set. Always an explanation for you! OtterSurf 08:23, June 29, 2012 (UTC)
2006?? Well, I did get it around 2007-2008, but I think they'd ceased production of the ISD by then. Were they still making them by then? If so, that'd explain a bit. Thanks, Ottersurf! User: Dr. Anonymous1 12:57, June 29, 2012 (UTC)
No problem. OtterSurf 17:03, June 29, 2012 (UTC)
