Plot[]

At the Monastery of Spinjitzu, Zane continues to examine the portal gate and consulting Pixal's portrait as a means of processing his thoughts. He is interrupted in his task by Mr. Frohicky's well-intentioned attempt to help out, and the embarrassed Frohicky quickly departs. Elsewhere, Nya and Sora-along with Riyu-are investigating an ancient tomb in their search for the missing Dragon Core. Nya hopes that the burial vault within the tomb will allow them to use some Seeker Stones, artifacts that she borrowed from the Cloud Kingdom, to locate the missing core. Sora is somewhat unenthusiastic, having become convinced by her recent experiences that her attempts to accomplish anything meaningful always lead to trouble.

Nya tries to convince Sora to remain hopeful, even after they nearly fall into a pool of acid that Sora somewhat predicted. Back at the monastery, Frohicky is trying to clean things up ahead of the other Ninja arriving, until Zane points out that his tiny brush will take forever to accomplish the task. Nya and Sora arrive at the burial vault, which turns out to have been built by the Djinn prior to the destruction of Djinjago. However, their attempt to use the Seeker Stones seemingly fails, though both witness a strange eye appearing on one of the stones and fail to notice markings that have appeared on their hands.

At the monastery, Zane's continued ruminations are interrupted by Mr. Frohicky's losing control of a mop machine he's acquired to help with cleaning. Upon Nya and Sora exiting the tomb with Riyu, dragon Sora is noticeably perturbed and helps the two Ninja spot the markings on their hands. They are then attacked by a pair of ghostly creatures that emerge from the tomb behind them. Back at the monastery, Frohicky attempts to make up for his previous mistakes by reordering the scrolls in the monastery library alphabetically...only to learn that they're meant to be in chronological order.

Nya and Sora quickly find themselves outmatched by their enemies, and only the intervention of dragon Sora and Jiro is able to get them safely away. The large dragons fly the pair and Riyu to a rock spire some distance away, and dragon Sora leads the way into a cave in the structure. The cave proves to be home to Arrakore, a Djinn, who recognizes dragon Sora and addresses her by her true name: Zanth. As it turns out, Zanth is originally from Djinjago, and she and Arrakore both sensed each other.

Arrakore explains that he was away from his realm when it was destroyed, and thus believes himself to be the last of his kind. Now only Arrakore, Zanth, and a single grain of sand seem to remain of the once great realm. The depressed Djinn has lost all hope and motivation and is less than thrilled when he discovers that the Ninja have misused Seeker Stones. He explains that this has led to them being cursed to be attacked by the Howlers, the creatures that pursued them.

Howlers can only be defeated by wish magic, and Arrakore explains that with the destruction of his realm-the source of that magic-he can't help them to defeat the beasts. The Howlers then arrive as predicted, and the Ninja and dragons try to fight off the creatures despite Arrakore's assertions that it can't be done. Sora gets frustrated by Arrakore's attitude, only to realize that it's not too different from how she's been speaking. Zanth also appeals to her old friend, and Arrakore finds that the grain of sand he's been carrying seems to be reacting to his new acquaintances' hope that they can succeed.

When the grain of sand grows in size, proving Sora's point, Arrakore instructs her to wish for his help. He is thus able to join the fight against the Howlers, and a wish from Nya then allows him to destroy the creatures before collapsing. Back at the monastery, an embarrassed Frohicky prepares to leave the monastery, but Zane convinces him to stay by noting that some things require adjustment periods before they can function at their best. Back at Arrakore's cave, Arrakore sees that his grain of sand is no longer a mere grain, and Nya expresses the hope that he might be able to one day restore the land of Djinjago. Grateful to his new friends, Arrakore offers his help in another matter: finding whatever they were attempting to find with the Seeker Stones.
