The Prodigal Father is the one hundred and forty-second episode of Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, and the fourteenth episode of season twelve.

Plot[]

Having learned of Zane's disappearance, Wu desperately searches for him from the Monastery of Spinjitzu, only to be captured by the Mechanic's Gang when they break in with advice from Unagami. Back at Freddy's Pizza, Milton Dyer is baffled to learn of the resurgence of Prime Empire, having long ago locked away the programming for the game. P.I.X.A.L. reasons that the game must have completed itself, but Dyer is unable to believe that a computer program he created would be capable of such a thing. He also dismisses the idea of P.I.X.A.L.'s own sentience, but proceeds to explain that the game was shut down after Scott disappeared during beta testing.

Zane wakes up in a warehouse, where the Mechanic and his gang are working on a massive machine to bring Unagami into Ninjago City. The Mechanic explains that pulling Ninjago's citizens into the game was all part of the plan, and demands that Zane return the Prime Empire motherboard. He manages to force Zane to do so by revealing and threatening a captured Wu, who manages to send a signal to P.I.X.A.L., who arrives in company with Dyer. However, the Mechanic is able to complete the Manifestation Gate using Zane as a capacitor, thus opening a portal to the world of Prime Empire.

Notes[]

  • The title is a reference to the biblical parable "The Prodigal Son."
