  • Star Wars VII sets by J.J. Abrams based on new movie?

    • They (if LEGO does that) will be released on December 2015 or 2016

    • I'm thinking in the summer 2015 wave because we usually get sets before the movie, like how they did for the Hobbit.

    • I so, so, soooo hope they make sets for the new movies! I'm also hoping for more Rebels sets with Sabine in them. Seriously, they could have put ANYONE in as the fourth fig for the Ghost, and they went with a Rebels-style Stormie instead of Sabine? That's the only thing I disliked about it.

Nope, they have no relation. The Phase I is a Clone Troopper Lieutenant from PT Episode II. The Phase II is a Clone Wars one part of the 501st Legion. The clones were coloured by rank and not by Legion/Battalion in the Battle of Geonosis (this can be read on the Clone Trooper Commander/Captain/Sergeant/Lieutenant pages that I added).

Should all that happen again with Rebels, we'll have a great show. And hopefully the CGI will get an upgrade partway through like what happened with CW.

Even longer for me, as I can't go in movie theaters and have to wait for the movie on DVD. So hoping they'll show it in an Autism-friendly theater like they did with Toy Story 3.

That's only because Ninjago is an original Lego theme and Star Wars, The Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings are licensed themes.

        Loading editor
    • I meant that, but it didn't come out right, sorry.

    • I reckon Lego will prioritize Ninjago, City and Chima over Star Wars and The Hobbit as they want to boost sales of their original themes. They usually release original themes in December and licensed ones in January/February. Exclusives (in Australia) are released with the mid-second wave. It sucks because in Australia, we get everything around 1 month after the US.

True, it also sounded like the guy voicing Smaug and Sauron in the Hobbit movies (I can't spell his name, but you know who I mean) who was up for a role, but since no one's announced his role, I doubt it was him.

But, most of all, I want to know the role of Daisy Ridley's character, who's production name is Kira (I think, which is why I'm using it), and if she's really the main character of the movie, as per the rumors. --"Kira's" flying popsicle--I mean, speeder bike

--A new Millennium Falcon $100-ish set, with rectangular radar dish (who else saw this?!) and old Han Solo/Princess Leia minifigs

--Stormtrooper shuttle/landing craft with new helmets for the stormies

    • Yes, but still, Anakin was the main protagonist. Here, to explain it: With TCW, Anakin was top, Ahsoka was usually second, and Rex or Obi-Wan were third. With the Prequels: Anakin was top, Obi-Wan was second, Padme was third. Originals: Luke was top, Han was second, Leia was third. With the Sequels, the rumor is that Kira will have the top spot.

I have no idea how they'd make the crossguard saber or the weird R2 that was kind of cute to me. But Kira's speeder, they can definitely make. And the X-Wings are a probability, as is the Falcon and the Stormie shuttle.

It's a fake; a fan-edit made within the past year "for the lulz". Notice that the "Episode VII" font is the one used in various promo material for Episodes I and II. When BttFII came out in 1989, this font hadn't been invented yet. And absolutely no one had any idea until the day it happened that Disney would ever buy Lucasfilm.

Although I must ask: if you are so insistent that this was actually in the movie, why couldn't you provide the "evidence" yourself?

Oh, they've got those, too; they're just too expensive to be practical. Flying cars in general are just more trouble than they're worth. Humans seem incapable at times of driving in two dimensions; asking them to fly would only end badly.

On the other hand, I haven't bought any new SW (or LEGO in general) since 2009; that was my last year before my "dark age". Now that I've got a little bit of money so I can afford sets, I've only been buying the old sets I had always wanted as a kid (Classic Star Wars, UFO, Exploriens, 2001 Bionicle, etc.) off Bricklink. I've even gone a step further and said I'm not going to buy SW made after 2009, since 2010 was the first year with white-pupiled minifigures, which don't have the charm of the original, simplistic faces, and I'm trying to be a completionist, and I don't have near the money to get every SW set since 1999...Why do I do these things to myself?

I'm guessing the New X-wing Starfighter right now

    • I am going to thing like a marketing executive and say:

      • The New X-Wings
      • The Stormtrooper Dropship
      • The Speeder Bike
      • Some of the spaceships shown in the background while the R2-unit plays with the soccer ball IF they play a role of any sort in the film

    • That R2 wasn't playing with a soccer ball. The R2 was the soccer ball.

I couldn't tell which was right, so I just went with the soccer ball thing.

    • Ah.

    • speaking of the new r2 how big do you think it is r2 d2 size or smaller

        Loading editor
    • I'm betting a lot smaller. Here:

      EpVII Weird Astromech

If you look at the distance from the top of it's head to the ground and measure it that way, this droid looks no better then an MSE-unit.

i thought so just alot of people think other wise i many wanted peoples opinnion o it and i assume your not a fan of its look

    • Quite the contrary. For some reason, whenever I see the picture that very rarely exposed, deeply-buried girly-girl that's stuck in me from when I was five wants to scream "OH IT'S SO CUTE!".

        Loading editor
    • Maybe the Astromech's way of getting around faster, and when it isn't in a rush, the ball turns into the usual body and legs.

        Loading editor
    • Interesting theory.

I wonder how they'd make the droid into a LEGO fig. I mean, that's not going to be easy.

        Loading editor
    • They'll probably give interchangable bodies, assuming that my theory is right.

        Loading editor
    • Like they do every time there's an Iron Man suit and a Stark figure in the same set? That could work...

        Loading editor
    • But this is only if the theory is right.

        Loading editor
    • yeah but how can they have the head and still roll

        Loading editor
    • It has a circular ring going around it in the middle. The ball connects in the middle of it, so it looks like the head's just floating there.

I've been studying the picture a lot recently.

    • Ah. As for that... no idea.

    • Magnets? New parts? I'll show you my design later (after I build it on LDD).

        Loading editor
    • I've been working on LDD, (I finally got it to download a few days ago! :)) and I'm not sure you can attach an R2 head to the ball piece...

      They'll think something

    • Lego will cheap out and probably make it non-rolling.

    • They've named the characters! Kira is now Rey (Wish it had stayed Kira) and the weird-but-cute 'mech is named BB-8!

I made BB-8 in LDD. Well, I tried to.
      BB-8

    • Thanks! I'm better at mini-figs, but I am learning how to build buildings. I think I made a pretty good version of the ice-castle one of my Marvel characters creates in my fanfics.

    • Im betting that it is going to be lego who gives us a good look at and name of the main villain.

        Loading editor
    • The name of the villain is Kylo Ren. They revealed it quite a while ago.

        Loading editor
    • oh missed that

        Loading editor
    • When/where was that revealed?

    • "Trading Card" style.

        Loading editor
    • Oh, yeah, that was funny.

I still like Kira better then Rey, but I'll get used to it. I didn't like Sabine's name at first, but it grew on me, same as Hera and Ahsoka's. :) I've got a good feeling about Rey.

        Loading editor
    • Oh, I only saw the one for BB-8 and Rey.
