The Thunder Dragon is a blue dragon from the Ninjago theme.

History[]

The Thunder Dragon appeared first appeared in “Balance” alongside the Fire Dragon after the Ninja followed the Legendary Dragon, which had abducted Master Wu, through a portal. The two looked on at the Ninja faced a pit filling with lava, a number of Pyro Vipers, and a Lava Monster. After Cole succeeded in crossing the room, the Thunder Dragon and its partner unexpectedly proved friendly. They helped him rescue the other Ninja before flying through the portal after the Legendary Dragon.

In “Wisdom”, the Thunder Dragon acted as Jay’s mount as he and the other Ninja raced on The Speedway Five-Billion. After the Ninja reached the end, Nya and Zane joined him on its back to pass through another portal. In “Honesty”, Jay rode the dragon in a jousting match against a Blizzard Samurai on a giant wolf. He was knocked off the dragon but managed to regain his seat, but would admit to being dislodged. The Ninja and the dragons would then pass through yet another portal.

In “Generosity”, Jay was perplexed to find that the dragon had disappeared after he and the other Ninja landed in what appeared to be the Dungeons of Shintaro. In “Courage”, Jay was reunited with the dragon as he and the other Ninja raced across the Island of the Keepers. Ultimately, much of what transpired in these adventures proved to be an illusion, designed to help the Ninja embrace the virtues of Spinjitzu. However, the three dragons were very much real, and departed after seeing Wu address his students.
